    Fulbright Program in Vietnam
    Vietnamese Student Program AY 2011 - 2012

    The U.S. Embassy in Vietnam is pleased to announce the 2011 Fulbright Vietnamese Student Scholarship Program. Established in 1946 and funded by the U.S. Congress, the Fulbright Program aims at achieving mutual understanding through academic and cultural exchange. The Fulbright Vietnamese Student Program is a competitive, merit-based scholarship program which recruits and nominates young Vietnamese professionals for Master?Ts degree programs at U.S. universities. Approximately 20 to 25 fully-funded scholarships are granted on an annual basis. Since 1992, about 500 Vietnamese students have participated in the Program.

    WHAT does the Scholarship provide? The 2011 grantees will pursue a Master?Ts degree program that begins in the academic year 2011-2012. The Fulbright Program will arrange placement at universities in the United States. Successful applicants will receive full scholarship which covers tuition and fees, monthly stipend, round-trip airfare to the U.S. and health insurance.

    WHO can apply? Competition is open to all applicants who meet the following minimum criteria:

    1. Be a Vietnamese citizen
    2. Have at least one undergraduate degree
    3. Have at least one year of work experience after the date of undergraduate diploma by April 1, 2010
    4. Have a valid minimum TOEFL score of 550 (institutional), equivalents to 79 (iBT) or IELTS 6.5.

    WHICH fields of study are supported?
    The Program supports study in most fields of social sciences and humanities, including:

    American History Education Psychology
    American Literature Environmental Studies Public Administration
    American Studies Management of IT/Information system Public Policy
    Anthropology Journalism Public Health
    Archaeology Language/Literature (non-U.S.) Social Work
    Art/Film Studies Law Sociology
    Business (all fields) Library Science TESOL/Applied Linguistics
    Communications Linguistics Urban Planning
    Development Studies Philosophy Social Work
    Economics Political Science Women/Gender Studies

    (A brief introduction of each field of study is available here. Please contact the Fulbright office if your desired field of study is not on the list)

    HOW to apply?
    A complete set of application guidelines is available in the Fulbright Student Booklet. You are strongly recommended to read through the guidelines before starting your application. Failure to comply with the guidelines may make your application ?oineligiblê? for the further rounds of competition.

    A complete application package must include:

    1. A Fulbright application form
    (From this application cycle, only paper application form, available in Word interactive format, is accepted.)
    2. Three letters of reference
    (All references must follow the Fulbright reference form, with all items to be completed.)
    3. Photocopies of valid TOEFL and/or IELTS score reports.
    4. Notarized photocopies of diplomas and transcripts (including notarized English translations).

    WHEN and WHERE *****bmit the application?
    The application and other supporting documents must arrive at the Fulbright Office no later than 5:00 p.m., April 1, 2010. Emailed or faxed applications will not be considered.

    Chào các bạn,
    Mình cũng đang định làm hồ sơ cho học bổng này, mình chỉ lo nhất là thi IELTS, vì mình thi hai lần rồi mà chỉ được 5.5 rồi 6.0.
    Mình đang chuẩn bị thi tiếp vào tháng 3/2010. Mình muốn tìm bạn nữ cùng luyện phần Speaking. Hi, mọi người đừng nghi ngờ gì cho mệt, chẳng qua, một thằng con trai như mình thì nói chuyện với một bạn nữ vẫn có hứng hơn, mình thành thật vậy đó, .
