Overall, the number of households used these consumer durables increased.
Telephone was the most considerable jump from 42% in 1972 to 77% in 1983 whereas the dishwasher rose 2% from 3% in 1978 to 5% in 1983.It is the smallest climb and dishwasher is the least common in the Britain. Beside, the television was the most popular of some household appliance over 93% in the period and the largest percentage was 98% in 1983. Moreover, the percentage of households with refrigerator and washing machine increased from 73% and 66% in 1972 to 94% and 80% in 1983. It is a quite gradual increase. Specially, the video was introduced in 1983 in the table with a total of 18%.
In the near feature it is forecast that the number of consumer durables used in Britain will increase significantly because it will become more popular in their life.

The map below describes two potential locations for supermarket which will be built in the future in the town of Garlsdon.
The first possible location(S1) is outside the town of Garlsdon. Beside, it lies near the main road to Hindon, and is separated the Hindon, about 12kms to the north-west. This site is in the countryside, so has more area to build and can accommodate a lot of parking. Shoppers from Hindon and Garlsdon can easily come here by car or train because it is also close to the railway line and main roads .In ad***ion, people who live in Cransdon(25 km to the southeast) can go shopping in there by train. So it attracts a potentially large number of shoppers from three towns Hindon ( population 10 000) , Garlson (population 65 000) and Cransdon (population 29 000).
In contrast, the second location,S2, is in the town centre, which would be good for local people who from the surrounding towns can go shopping by main road or rail. But There is no traffic zone in central area, so cars would be unable to park and shopping would be difficult.
Overall, the out of town site (S1) isn’t appropriate for all towns, but for customers in Cransdon, Hindon and Garlsdon, it would probably offer more advantages.

The chart shows the number of hours of leisure time enjoyed by genders and employment status in a typical week in 1998 – 99.

There are five different statuses shown. First, in employed full-time, men had approximately fifty hours of leisure, but women had thirty-seven hours. Females past-time had forty hours of leisure time, more than females in full-time slightly, whereas there were no figures given for males part-time.
In unemployed and retired status, the rates in all genders were both increase dramatically,might have been predicted. There were the similar number of hours of leisure in two ***es. Men had eighty hours cpmpared with seventy hours in women on average.
Lastly, there were no figures given for househusbands, while housewives had approximately fifty-three hours of leisure time.
In conclusion, we can see the amount of leisure time in males had more than females throughout the whole period, maybe females have to work more time in the home than males, demonstrating the unequal point between males and females in sharing doing housework.
