Radar quang tử (photonics radar) ko phải Nga hay Mỹ đi đầu mà là Ý khai sinh ra khái niệm này, nó dùng laze, đi ốt quang và quang học thay cho các mạch điện tử để quan sát, theo dõi mục tiêu chính xác hiệu quả hơn

An Italian funded project called PHOtonic-based full DIgital Radar (PHODIR) developed the first fully photonics-based coherent radar system in 2014. A photonic radar replaces the tra***ional electronic circuits of conventional radars with lasers, optical filters and photodiodes to generate very precise, high-quality radio frequency signals.

photonic radar sẽ cho ra hình ảnh của mục tiêu rõ nét, gần như thấy rõ là 1 chiếc máy bay, giảm trọng lượng, tăng độ phân giải, chứ ko còn là chấm sáng trên radar, lọc mục tiêu dễ dàng hơn khỏi nhiễu địa hình hoặc thời tiết, giúp theo giõi mục tiêu tốt hơn so với radar truyền thống vốn chỉ có chấm sáng chớp chớp ko khớp với thời gian thực, với loại radar này thì RCS thấp vô dụng (nó tương tự IRST nhưng với phạm vi lên tới 300 dặm), trên F35 còn chưa có nữa là F16. Bọn F35 và F16 mới nâng cấp radar SARB quảng cáo độ phân giải rất cao, nhưng ko dám nói rõ ở độ cao nào, 1 kiểu bịp quen thuộc của chúng, còn nữa độ phân giải cao còn phụ thuộc vào tần số GPS hoặc các hệ thống tương tự (Galieo, Glonass, Compass)

Vostok-2018 exercise to involve 21 formations from 10 regions

MOSCOW, September 6. /TASS/. Twenty one formations have been mobilized in ten regions of Russia for the forthcoming Vostok-2018 exercise due on September 11-17, the chief of Russia’s General Staff Valery Gerasimov said on Thursday.

"The main purpose of the Vostok-2018 exercise is to check the level of training that can be assessed only in an exercise of proper scale. This exercise, to be held on the bilateral basis, will be the strictest test of combat skills and the military districts’ readiness for ground, air and naval operations."

"Involved in the exercise will be forces from the Eastern and Central federal districts, the Northern Fleet, and Airborne Forces, as well as long-range, military transport and tactical aircraft of Russia’s Aerospace Force. All in all, 297,000 officers and men, more than one thousand planes, helicopters and drones, up to 36,000 tanks, armored personnel carriers and other vehicles and up to 80 ships will take part," Gerasimov said.

"The military contingents of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and the Mongolian Armed Forces will participate side by side with Russian military personnel. Currently the contingents from both countries are completing coordination and adjustment at the Tsugol proving ground," he said.

Russia’s future sixth-generation fighter well as its next generation unmanned aircraft could be equipped with what is described as a “radio-photonic radar.”

If the Russians succeed in developing such systems, Moscow would be in possession of a sensor with far greater range and resolution—high enough to develop a three dimensional image of an airborne target—than anything currently in operation around the world. Potentially, such a radar system could allow the Russians to develop a weapons quality track on a stealth aircraft if it proves to be successful.

According to the state-owned TASS news agency, Russia’s RTI Group is expected to complete preliminary research and development—as well as built a mockup—of a X-band radio-photonic radar this year. That "will determine a principal scheme of building the radio-photonic locator," the RTI Group told TASS . That should allow the company "in several years to build prototypes of super-light and small-size radars for unmanned aerial vehicles."


Photonic radars "will be able to provide radio wave imaging when an image has greater details with the possibility to identify the target type," the RTI Group told TASS. That mirrors previous statements from the Radio-Electronic Technologies Group, which is generally better known by its Russian acronym KRET.
