Hi everyone,
Below is report of what we discussed last week:

1. Topic 1: Connecting consumers with makers of custom goods
Presenter: Mr. Q.Trung

Mr. Trung introduced an intermediary company which connects Suppliers and Consumers. There are two ways in order to implement the idea:
Firstly, we can make a website which has a huge database of products and makers. The prices are quoted on the website. Customers can choose the suitable price with them and pay via cre*** card or PayPal. They also have to pay a charge for each order. The database adds “hundreds of makers” every month. It offers every mature category needs and it is a portal connecting buyers and providers.

On the other hand, a difficulty of this business is that the consumer may connect directly to the supplier, not through the intermediary company. However, the problem can be solved because the company can receive a lot of orders for each kind of product so that the quoted price is always better than the price which other supplier can offer.

Secondly, the company also makes a huge database of products and makers but the customer’s demand can be customized. Customers design product by themselves or write the detail requirements and send them to the company. Basing on the huge database of makers, the company will chose the best one relevant to the order. Because the product is different from the others or sometimes it is unique so that the price is quite high which will bring company a big benefit.

The difficulty of this way is that it is difficult to choose the maker can accept the special order and the company must be highly responsible for the quality of the product. The solution is that the company has to focus in small companies or individual makers that can satisfy the special order with cheaper price. Besides that, the company has to build a maker rating system in order to evaluate makers and choose the best one for each order.

2. Topic 2: Using Skype, UK 'granny cloud' helps teach Indian children
Presenter: Chi Dino

The main idea is not for business but it is very interesting. A project has been implemented in India that help Indian children improve their English. Many volunteer English people who are now regularly teaching children on Skype. The project can expand from incorporating volunteers to tell stories telling and sing, etc.

This idea can be applied for the business in Vietnam. A lot of families want their children learn English with foreign teachers so that we can connect students with volunteer English teachers. Furthermore, we can open an English center for students to learn online with famous teachers through Skype.
