It has been brought to my attention by someone who shall remain nameless. It seems that I may have caused some uncomfortable problems with some SEC members maybe because of my English being "too good" It has been felt that some of you may be afraid to talk with me as I wish to be so much a part of your lives other than just English tutoring. I am so sorry if I have caused any uncomfortable feelings among you. Please be open and honest and help me to be the English adviser I am supposed to be. I wish to still be a part of your lives, but will keep it to English tutoring if that be your wishes. You know that I take life way too serious and that is a fault of mine.

    Mr. Richard,
As my promise to you, I''m here to give you my response. I, on behalf of SEC, would like to send you our apology that we have caused you to feel this way. I''m guaranteed you that it is not your problem at all. Certainly, you don''t have to be so worried like that. Therefore, I would like to send you many thanks for your tremendous effort in trying to help SEC Members to improve their English. However, I also would like to pin point out the problem that might have been causing you to have felt this trouble. There might have been a problem with some of us due to our lacking knowledge of English which have caused some of us to be uncomfortable to have a full understandable conversation with you as an American.
Thus, in order to resolve this problem, I would like to address some of my thoughts to our lovely SEC Members. Please talk to Mr. Richard as freely. He would appreciate much if you would open your heart when you have a chat or a talk with him so that Mr. Richard would know exactly how you feel. Therefore, he can help you in every way that he could for you to fully understand him. Please tell him what you don''t get/understand, so he would explain/express to you what he means in another way.
Don''t feel discouraged if you don''t understand 100%. Everyone of us has to practice. Since practice is one of the key elements to our success, so use it in every possible way that you could to improve your knowledge as well as your English.
Please drop a few lines to indicate your acknowledgement to Mr. Richard''s problem. And please don''t let him down since he has given us such a tremendous help to build a better and a brighter SEC to further our advancement in English.
Mr. Richard, your effort is highly appreciated by SEC Members. Lastly, it''s grateful for us to have you as our English Advisor. So, please bear with us on this issue.
    Best,

Mr. Richard, we are so grateful to have you as a part of SEC team. Your enthusiastic contribution to SEC is sincerely appreciated. I guess there may be some misunderstandings due to problems in communications and cultural difference. You are a mature person and you take matters seriously. Some of us here (I as example) like to joke around; and as a result, unintentionally hurt your feeling. Don''t worry Mr Richard. We love you and will look up to you for your guidance. I just want to let you know one thing, you do make positive influence to some of us.

Oh God!! What make you think you are causing troubles to us since your English is so well. :-?
The better your English is, the more effective our communications will be. Yeah, it''s undeniable that you and I may have some cultural barriers which should not be the language to affect our relationship to some extents. Yet don''t worry, Richard!! We are defenitely friends. Though I have not talked to you privately before, I quite appreciate your efforts and ethusiasm to be our adviser, and I''m coming to you soon
Go and cheer with me, Richard!!
It seems this is second time you concern about your English towards Sec members who are Vietnamese, and I really dont want to see it once again as I CONFIRM WE ARE FRIENDS THOUGH :)) (If you dont mind, I can add FOREVER!! , ha ha, but I believe you may think I''m flirting you!! ) he he :P

    Dear MrRichard,
Although I have never talked to you before but I think you are our good friend, a precious friend to us. You are always willing to help us without any con***ion and we respect your kind heart. If having anyone said any impolite words to you, that guy is not deserved of being SEC''s member, not a real SEC member and you pls don''t mind to him/her, ok ?
So, hope you feel better now and be with us, with this club.
    love,
    -love you in silence-

Be noone but youself, sir. I know that you youself can differentiate what are the right position and apprecitation we keep in heart about you... and what are the stupi***y and nonsense...
You should just care about everyone who always needs your support and values a lovely and helpful friend like you... How about the one who is heckin'''' free to gossip or talk in talk out but doesn''''t know wat is the good manner and behavior that one should take... For those, IGNORE plz !!! It''''s very wastefulness if you spend your time , your care or even your misery for those...
Hope you get well soon... And hope SEC is always in your heart as a place of friendship ...
    Regards,

Richard, you''ve experienced culture differences which can happen to anyone joining a new community.
Think of it in a simple way like this: my teacher, an American, first time taught a class of multi-national students mostly from Asia. He asks lots of questions in class but seemly nobody answered or responsed. He was confused whether his students understood the lessons or they did not like him.
Soon he found out that conversation in the States is like a Tenis Game with two people, once the ball is on the go it must be hit by both players. They don''t have pauses and keep the conversation going, if someone attacks other''s opinion it''s not considered rude. Eastern style of conversation is like a Bowling Game, you must wait for your turn to speak. Speaking or commenting in the middle of the other''s speech is considered rude.
Well, just a bit of culture intergration, hope it helps u a bit to understand this VN community and enjoy your stay
