Students can gain many new experiences via studying in college and university. As you all know, students in Hong Kong depend much on parental care. Learning in a different environment will surely be a valuable opportunity for them to look after themselves. They require to tackle the problems themselves and they will become more independent. Moreover, they will also learn how to organise some activities. They may need to take part in many extra-curricular activities. Take the students union as an example. If you are the chairperson of the student union, you are required to improve the learning environment for students. You should put all your effort on the benefit of students. Furthermore, when you organise some activities, you can learn the communication skills. Teamwork is an important factor for success. You should not insist on your own idea, but be open minded. All these skills are marvelous experiences that we gain in studying in university
Apart from gaining new experiences, attending college or university will be a preparation for future careers. Recently, Hong Kong is facing economic turmoil. Unemployment rate tends to increase rapidly. Many people lose their jobs or have a salary cut. It is an extremely tough tasks for form seven graduates to find a job. Therefore, it is essential for us to be better equipped ourselves. Moreover, we are now facing a threat of the professionals from the mainland China. More and more employers are willing to employ them so as to reduce their production costs.
