Cách đọc ?oed?
a. Ta đọc là /t/ sau những âm không rung (trừ âm /t/): /f/; /k/; /p/; /^/; /t^/
Ex: laughed, asked, stopped, danced, missed, watched, washed?..
b. Ta đọc là /d/ sau những âm có rung (trừ âm /d/)
Ex: robbed, changed, opened, studied, ordered, closed?..
c. Ta đọc là /id/ sau hai âm /d/ và /t/
Ex: attended, decided, ended, needed, expected, invited, rented, repeated, wanted?
Lưu ý:
? Một số động tính từ tận cùng bằng ?o-ed? dùng như tính từ, đọc là: /id/
Ex: beloved (yêu quý), learned (có học thức), crooked (cong, không thật thà)
? Một số tính từ tận cùng bằng ?o-ed? cũng đọc /id/
Ex: aged (có tuổi, già), naked (trần truồng), ragged (rách rưới), sacred (thiêng liêng), wicked (xấu, độc ác)
