Have you ever done something that challenged you?
When I was at high school, I had already sung in front of the whole school students. It was the first time I performed in front of the crowd. On that day I was very nervous. I was afraid of critisim and i didn''t want to be told I was bad at singing. When I was on the stage, I was very embarrassed and I almost forgot the lyrics. Then I looked down the crowd and I saw my classmates. They were very enthusiastic and encouraged me to begin right away. After that, I took a deep breath and said to myself " I can do it ". And I had overcome my nervers and I was standing on stage and singing like a professional singer. Then I had a successful performance. It was such a wonderful memory of my life I have never forgotten.

When I was five years old, I had a childhood memories at my kindergarten.. That day, my mother forgot to bring me from school back to home. She forgot because she had too busied. At that time, ever child was been take by their parents. When all child went home, there was only me alone. I was so nervous and frightened .I started cry and called my mother incessantly. The doorkeeper coaxed me. He said my mother will come to take me soon. Whether he tried helping me to not feel scare but I still crying.. Then whenever anybody went through, I called them to take me back to home. At that time ,I was so despair and I thought that: "I would never come back home" and I had a daring idea. I waited for the doorkeeper not pay attention to me. Then I snecked away and run away like a lamplighter. I still remembered that I run to crossed dark solitary lake and I had closed my eyes. At that time, In my head had just thought: "I have to go home as soonest as possible". That night ,my all family went to found me and frightented to death.

My special present!
My special present is a mobile phone, which my parents promised to give me when i pass the university examination. It always remind me to study hard to my parents happy. It is a Sony Ericsson phone. It has simple beautiful with silver and classical design. My mobile phone help me to not only relax with music, games when I am tired, but also work with dictionary, wifi and microsoft. Moreover, when I feel sad and lonely, I can talk with all people I want. It is very useful for me and now, it become a important part in my life.

WRITING TASK 1:
The graph shows changes in the gap between US energy consumption and production since 1950. It also estimates trends up to 2025.
Between 1950 and 1970 both production and consumption increased from just over 30 units to about 65, and although consumption was consistently higher, the difference was mariginal during this period.
However, production grew only gradually over the next 30 years to reach 70 units in 2000. In contrast, growth in consumption was steeper and more fluctuating, reaching 95 units by 2000. Energy imports needed to bridge this gap therefore increased from very little in 1970 to a substantial 25 units in 2000.
Projectios up to 2025 indicate that this trend is likely to continue, with the gap between production and consumption will reach 140 units, while production will reach only 90, so more than 30% of energy consumed ( 50 units) will have to be imported.
Overall, the graph indicates that energy production in the US is not keeping up with consumption, so imports will continue to increase.

The only way to reduce the amount of traffic in cities today is by reducing the need for people to travel from home for work, education or shopping.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.

It is certainly true that today traffic in cities throughout the world has become a major problem. This is obvious from the number of vehicles on our roads and the amount of pollution they cause. Probably the traffic problem is due to individuals traveling for work, study or shopping purposes, and this is evident in the rush hours we experience every morning and evening.
It is also true that today such daily commuting is not always necessary because people can do these things from home. We can see this in the options Information Technology gives us today. For instance, online work, distance learning and shopping facilities are all available via the Internet.
However, even if everyone had access to the technology and the opportunity to work from home, it is unrealistic to think that everyone would want to. Even though the technology for working, studying or shopping online makes this option a possibility, nevertheless it would mean people had less freedom of choice and less social contact in their lives. This would have a large impact on society as a whole.
Therefore, in conclusion, I think that while this practice could reduce the traffic problems in our cities, it is most unlikely to be an acceptable solution. In terms of other solutions, perhaps we need to think more carefully about facilitating public transport and limiting private cars in our city centres. The development of public transport that is not road-based, such as sky trains or subways, would probably be a more acceptable alternative measure to reduce jams in our roads.
