Oh well, this topic seems to be dead although some people knock the door, trying to catch any tiny attention from the members. The enthusiasm and eagerness to learn the language are still in every part of you and me. This topic can be a good place for us to jot down any new words or phrases everytime we learn something new or want to practise our writing skill. Of course with your permission, if I receive any comment or feedback, telling me that I am turning this 4rum into a trashcan, I''ll stop right away
Recently, I have been reading the book "perfect phrases" posted by a member. There are some parts that I found useful to me, especially skills of making a good presentation & the phrases they use. It''s not necessary to learn them all by heart but to read and learn the way they speak & the words they use. Step by step we will be able to make our own presentation.
In a presentation, there are three parts: intro, body and conclusion. In the first part, the speaker will introduce the topic, the purpose of the speech, the organization of your speech (what will be discussed first, sencond, etc), the length of the speech & open questions for the presentation (audience can ask during the speech or after the speech. It depends on the speaker).
Following is an example of an introduction that I make up of steps of cooking rice
Good morning everybody. First of all, let me say how honored & delighted I am to be here with you today to introduce a subject i am passionate about: cooking rice . By the time I''m finished, you''ll have a better understanding of rice-cooking. I intended to divided my speech into three parts. In the next few minutes, I''d like to present some ingredients needed. After that is how to cook and finally is some tips of making a delicious bowl of rice . This should take 7 minutes of your time. If you have any questions, pls save them to the end of my presentation and I will be glad to answer them. Now, let me get right to the first step on the agenda....

That is what I can remember from the first year T_T and what I can do with some phrases from the book I am working on. I mixed them to invent this piece. There are some mistakes with words use.
