Address and the meaning of address

I'm honor to ask you about this kind address. I have read it in some kind of letter, but I dont know what kind of address they mean. The address is as follow:

Ms. Barbara L. Mauer
157 Beach Drive
San Diego, CA 92113

What is "CA 92113" mean?
I'm already know that "San Diego" is a name of a City. And that "157 Beach Drive" is the number of a house and Beach Drive is a name of a street. In ad***ion, "Barbara L. Mauer" is a full name of sender; it contains three parts, the first name is Barbara, the mid-name is L. and the last name is Mauer. Is my explanation alright? Could everybody please help me for this?

Yeah, I'm looking on the internet and see that "CA 92113" means "California 92113".

CA= California
92113 = Postal code

Yes, you are absolutely correct.

Postal codes in the States always have 2 letters and then 5 numbers - all go together.

I notice your English is very good, except the very first paragraph.

The correct term for 92113 is zip code (zone improvement plan). It is the same as post code, postcode or postal code.

Zip code does not have letters.

Those two letters are for name of the state. People have an option to either write out the whole name of the state or in its shortened version.

You are right, the ZIP codes don't include the numbers. However, the fact that they are always together tricks me and several others.
