30 người thì cũng không đến nỗi quá đông đâu.Chỗ ở tạm thì trong trường không có,như dân ta ở hall kì trước toàn phải sang PGP ngủ trọ một đêm rồi sáng hôm sau qua hall nhận phòng.Nhưng nay PGP đóng cửa rồi còn đâu.Như vậy có lẽ là các bạn SIA sẽ tá túc tạm thời ở các hall ( Raffles giờ là nơi ở tạm của tất cả các PGP residents ) 1 đêm, sáng hôm sau đi lấy phòng, đến lúc này thì các senior hoặc fresh nào đi VNA phải mở lòng mở cửa phòng ra mà chào đón thôi.Mạt vận nhất thì vứt nhờ đồ ở trong một cái phòng nào đó của hall rồi đi lang thang Singapore by night một đêm, trời sáng cũng nhanh thôi ý mà. Nếu có vụ này thì gọi tui nhé,cấm được quên đấy.

Hix đấy là mới suggest thôi.Vì cứ đà này có khi anh cũng chẳng có chỗ mà ngủ ( ở lại chờ fresh rồi về luôn mà ) nếu NUH mở lại rồi thì ta đi ăn chè rồi tán phét.Nó chưa mở thì đi lang thang ngắm NUS về đêm, đàm đạo việc đời, chuẩn bị tinh thần cho tương lai. Còn bus thì đi bus, hết bus thì đi bộ.Mới sang đi bộ quanh quanh cũng khá là hay.Cái trường lúc mới sang trông rộng lắm đó. Nhưng đấy là bất khả kháng thôi, chứ mới sang nên nghỉ ngơi vì còn nhiều việc đang chờ đợi lắm. Nhưng có người thì lại muốn nói chuyện vì mới sang không ngủ được vì buồn. Welcome all.

Introduction
The NUS and ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarships are offered by the National University of Singapore
(NUS) to acknowledge and encourage outstanding full-time NUS undergraduates.
Terms and con***ions
a) The scholarship covers all tuition fees and an annual living allowance of S$4,300. The scholarship
is tenable for the minimum period of candidature for the respective undergraduate degree course at
NUS. Please note that the tuition grant portion is not provided for under the scholarship scheme.
b) The scholarship itself does not carry a bond. However, tuition fees at NUS have been generously
subsidised by the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) through the MOE tuition grant. The
tuition grant portion is not covered under the scholarship scheme. Therefore, all international
students and Singapore Permanent Residents will be required to work with a Singapore registered
company for a minimum of three years upon graduation for any employer of their choice. Please
note that the fees and subsidies for the Medical and Dental courses are greater, and students are
obliged to work for a longer period in Singapore and the bond specifications differs.
c) Recipients of the scholarship may not concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship, grant or
award without the prior approval from the University.
d) The University does not provide any assistance towards travel or other costs nor does it guarantee
employment to the scholar upon graduation.
e) The scholarship covers the entire duration of undergraduate studies on con***ion that scholars
maintain a minimum CAP (Cumulative Average Point) of 3.5. The academic performance is monitored
on a semester basis.
f) If the scholar decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, the university reserves the right to
impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.
Eligibility criteria
a) Full-time undergraduates matriculating or applying for admission in academic year 2003-2004, who are
citizens and permanent residents of an ASEAN member country excluding Singapore (i.e. Brunei,
Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam), are
considered for the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship.
b) The NUS Undergraduate Scholarship is open to all full-time NUS undergraduates matriculating or
applying for admission in academic year 2003-2004, regardless of nationality.
c) Only freshmen are considered for the scholarships.

Instructions for completing the scholarship application form
a) Please submit your completed scholarship application by 11 August 2003 to

Please provide all requested information. Incomplete and / or late applications will not be considered.
If any section of the application form does not apply to you, please indicate â?~NAâ?T. Inaccurate or false
information or omission of information will render your application invalid and your application will be
rejected.
b) Please submit clear photocopies of the following with your application and arrange them in this order
i) application form
ii) essay
iii) academic awards records
iv) documents reflecting financial awards, scholarships and / or loans held previously or holding
currently
v) co-curricular activities records
vi) certificates and school testimonials
c) You must submit an admission application by 11 August 2003 or offered admission to NUS (for full-time
national servicemen who were reserved places). It is not necessary for you *****bmit another copy
of your academic results (e.g. A level results and SAT I score) for the scholarship application as the
universities will be able to obtain the information from your admission application. Please note that
candidates who did not apply for admission will not be considered for the scholarship.
d) Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible candidates. Candidates
should be outstanding academically and hold strong records of participation. Please note that the
University shortlists candidates strictly on merit. All applicants should be notified of the outcome of
the scholarship application in late Sept 2003, if they have completed all necessary procedures.
Letters informing the applicants about the final decision regarding the scholarship will be sent to the
address as indicated on the admission application.
e) NUS will consider you for the scholarship in view of your choices in your admission application and
the terms of the scholarship. Candidates are encouraged to apply for the Science and Engineering
disciplines. Though the scholarship is open to students from all faculties, candidates should note that
due to the highly competitive nature of selected courses like Medicine, Dentistry and Law, there are
limited scholarships for students who wish to pursue these courses.
f) NUS reserves the right not to award any scholarships if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The
decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be
entertained.

What does the NUS / ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship offer?
The recipient of the NUS or ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship will receive an annual living allowance
of S$4,300. The University will also cover the tuition fees payable (i.e. S$16,200*/17,820# for Medicine
and Dentistry and S$5,650*/6,220# for other courses in academic year 2002-2003) by the student.

Does the scholarship cover hostel and other miscellaneous charges?
Under the NUS or ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship, the recipient will receive an annual living
allowance of S$4,300. Students pay for their hostel charges (if applicable) and miscellaneous charges
from this allowance.
I am a Singaporean / Singapore PR who is serving full time national service now. I have been
reserved a place at NUS and will be matriculating in academic year 2004-2005. Do I apply for the
scholarship now?
You could apply for the scholarship now. If you are successful, the scholarship would be reserved for
you and will commence when you join the university in academic year 2004-2005.
I am an international student. Do I have to take up the Ministry of Education Tuition Grant if I
am awarded the NUS / ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship?
Under the scholarships, the University will only cover the fees of S$17,820 for Medical and Dental
students, and S$6,220 for students from other courses. Because these fees represent the subsidised
amounts, all international students must take up the Tuition Grant from the Ministry of Education.
International students who accept the Tuition Grant are obliged to work with a Singapore registered
company for a minimum of three years upon successful completion of their course of study. Please note
that the fees and subsidies for the Medical and Dental courses are greater, and students are obliged to
work for a longer period in Singapore and the bond specifications differs. Students who do not wish to
serve the bond must pay the Tuition Grant portion. For more information about the Tuition Grant, please

Are the interviews required for the scholarship?
The university may choose to interview some of the candidates. The interviews are usually conducted
in May and late August / September periods. Only selected applicants will be interviewed. Shortlisted
applicants will be notified of the interview dates and details by email if an email address was provided
or by post.
How many scholarships are available?
The number of scholarships awarded varies, as it depends on the quality of the candidates. In academic
year 2002-2003, more than 170 students received NUS / ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarships.
Am I allowed to apply for the Tuition Fee Loan and the NUS Study Loan pending the outcome of
my scholarship application?
Yes, you may apply for the Tuition Fee Loan, NUS Study Loan or other loan schemes pending the
outcome of your scholarship application. In fact, we advise applicants in need to apply for financial
assistance while waiting for the outcome of their scholarship application. If you are awarded the
scholarship, you can always cancel any loans you have obtained.
Does the scholarship cover the entire duration of my studies at NUS?
The scholarship covers the minimum period of candidature for the respective undergraduate degree
course (i.e. 8 semesters for a 4-year course or 6 semesters for a 3-year course) at NUS provided you
maintain a minimum CAP (Cumulative Average Point) of 3.5. We will review your performance after each
semester. If you attain a minimum CAP of 3.5, your scholarship will be extended automatically. If not, you
will be put on probation or subjected to other actions deemed fit by the University.
What is CAP?
The CAP is the weighted average grade point of all modules taken by the student. The grade point for
a module ranges from 5.0 (best) to 0.0 (worst).
If I choose to terminate the scholarship before the completion of my undergraduate studies, do I
need to make any repayment to the university?
If the scholar decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, the university reserves the right to
impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis. Scholars who wish to terminate the scholarship should
notify the Office of Admission in writing one month in advance.
If the University terminates my scholarship due to unsatisfactory performance, do I need to make
any repayment to the university?
No, repayment is not required.

Anh Hải đã lên OSA để hỏi confirm lại ngày Freshmen từ VN có thể sang và thông báo lại như sau:
+ Freshmen từ SARS non-afftected countries có thể sang ngày 17 -> 22/7
+ Trước ngày 23 vi` 23/7 là ngày thi QET
+ Tuy nhiên nên tránh 2 ngày 19 và 20/7 vi` Office của các Halls không làm việc vào ngày nghỉ cuối tuần.
+ Freshmen từ non-affected countries đăng kí ở PGP sẽ không vào thẳng PGP mà phải ở Hall cho đến 31/7 (vi` PGP dùng để cách ly đến 31/7)
+ Khuyến khích freshmen bay ngày 18/7.
