Hindu temples and shrines are scattered
throughout the overcrowded streets of
Kathmandu. Dubar Square, for instance,
is an architectural showpiece with over 50
monuments some aged over 800 years.
The numerous religious monuments are
dedicated to the myriad of gods that form
part of the Hindu belief system.

Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas and an
important Tibetan Buddhist monument outside
Tibet. The stupa has a circumference of 100m
and is 38m high. After the chinese invasion of
their homeland, many Tibetans sought refuge in
Nepal and live in the vecinity of this monument.

Nhìn đường phố nepal hình như hơi lộn xộn quá nhỉ, hì hì. tớ chưa có thời gian xem kĩ, giờ phải đi học bài mai vào xem kĩ lại vậy. Bây giờ vẫn chưa biết pokhara post hình thành phố nào vì cái tội không đọc kĩ.

A single rowboat crosses the lake at Pokhara as rice paddies on the far hills stand out in the early morning sunlight. Fewa Lake is gorgeous most of the year, but the skies are clearest in October and November.

Viewed from the high hills beneath the Peace Pagoda, terraces lead down to the lake far below. Farmers in these scenic fields work long hours tending their crops, harvesting by hand.

Viewed at sunset from the rooftop terrace of our hotel in Pokhara, Machapuchare (Fishtail Peak), nearly 23,000 feet high, is bathed in pink. Although it''s not an especially high peak for Nepal, Machapuchare is higher than any peak in the Americas, Africa, Europe and elsewhere in Asia.

When looking down from the hills above Pokhara, this small island stands out clearly against the usually placid waters of the lake. Varahi Temple, dedicated to a Hindu goddess, is on this island which is reached easily by rowboat and is popular with young couples seeking some privacy away from parents.



Valley Below Pokhara

An area in Pokhara called Lakeside provides great morning views of the lake and steep mountains on the other side. Pokhara has a wonderful atmosphere for just chilling out and relaxing.
