that plant is "tulsi" yes its a sacred plant.
Bamboo dance is not much known in rest of the India. Its practiced is North east. Look at the people, they look like South East asians. North East is close to Chinese occupied Tibet and Mayanmar (Burma).

She better be good. I tried once and my leg was caught in the bamboo., AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! What a pain. I cannot forget. But i really love this dance.

But i think the dancing styles are quite different.
I guess in India you dance round through the bamboos. And in Vietnam we dance back and forth.
Chacko the dancers in Bamboo dance are from Himachal pradesh?

Its back and forth too.
These dancers are from Mizoram. Mizo''s look like Vietnamese.

Bhagat Singh
Bhagat Singh was very courageous,He stood up for his countrySince the British were very outrageous.The British mistreated the Indians,They took their money; they took their land,And those who fought for freedom, they handcuffed their hand.Bhagat Singh came and said, "We will not be defeated,We will win back our rights and freedom, even though we have been cheated."He was arrested for protesting against the British misrule,So they hung him at dawn on March 23, 1931.He was a hero who will always be India''s favorite son.
Samir Bhagat   (9 years)  lives in Woodinville, WA in USA.  His  parents are Indian and have always encouraged him to learn more about India. He wrote this poem on Bhagat Singh for a national contest in the US called Reflections. 

Muni''s Dream

Muni, the 8 year old, daydreamer, was sleeping one afternoon. She as usual had a dream. She dreamt that  her friends Maria , Shagun and Anania were playing hide and seek inside the pool. That is, the hiders have to hold their breath and be underwater, while, the person whô?Ts finding them has to jump into the pool to find them. While they were playing, Tejal, another girl who was not their friend, but who wanted to be, appeared there. We didn?Tt want to be her friend, so we hid underwater. Unfortunately, she was also coming to the pool for a swim. So, Tejal would find the four of them. They had no choice. Whenever Tejal was coming underwater, they had to swim ahead. It was like playing catch-catch. At last, Tejal went out of the pool. When she turned to go, we came out and Shagun said to her, ?oHye! Did you know that we were in the pool with you?? ?oOf course! I thought once in a blue-moon you?Tll want to play in the pool wit me!? she said. The four of us stared at her. Muni said, ?oMmmmm . . . . . May we be your friend?? Tejal said, ?oHa, ha! of course! Bye! I?Tve got to go! See you tomorrow!? Anania and Maria said together, ?oI guess Tejal turned out to be a good friend after all!? When Muni woke up, she ran to her friends and told them her dream, and they really became Tejal?Ts friend!
