    Air Apaches On The Warpath.
When a group of ingenious 5th Air Force engineers installed eight forward-firing .50 caliber machine guns in the nose of the B-25 Mitchell bomber, they converted a very good medium bomber into a devastating low-level strafer which revolutionized the air war in the Southwest Pacific.
Equipped with their new aerial hotrod, pilots and aircrews of the 345th Bomb Group pillaged and plundered their way across the southeastern reaches of the Japanese empire, neutralizing their airpower on the ground and devastating their vital shipping supply lanes. Strafing and bombing everything in their path, their reputation was such that the very sight of the ''Air Apaches'', as they were known, struck fear into the hearts of the enemy, on both land and sea.
Inspired by the legendary stories of the men of the 345th, particularly the aircrews who had fought a brutal, bloody war with no quarter asked or given, Robert Taylor has recreated one of their famous missions.
The date is February 16, 1944. Intelligence has reported enemy shipping in the region of New Hanover, a large island west of New Ireland, and 41 strafers from the 345th have joined three squadrons of the 38th Bomb Group to hunt them down. In the foreground the 500th Squadron''s B-25, ''Rita''s Wagon'', having raked the 420-ton Japanese Sunchaser No. 39 with machine-gun fire, has released a bomb which explodes near the stern, probably damaging the steering gear. The air and water is alive with flying shrapnel. A burst of flak from one of the ship''s guns rocks the B-25 as it makes its diving pass just above the masthead, and already there are signs of damage aboard the Subchaser
Rapidly closing is the next assault as B-25 ''Brother Rat'' begins a diving attack which will send the hapless Subchaser, now out of control, onto a nearby reef. The 499th B-25''s following up into the distance will roar in to finish the ship''s destruction. In the background the 5460-ton tanker Sanko Maru explodes in flames to complete the success of the attack by the ''Air Apaches''.
With each print in Robert''s new, exclusively small e***ion individually signed by four leading ''Air Apache" pilots from the 345th Bomb Group, this dramatic print will be in great demand by connoiseurs of the Pacific War.

The Battle of The Coral Sea.
Tactically the Battle of the Coral Sea mat have indicated a Japanese success, but strategically it was an American victory. The capture of Port Moresby had been thwarted, and for the first time the march of the Japanese forces throughout the south west pacific was halted.
Though the loss of the carrier Lexington, the tanker Neosho and the destroyer Sims were hard to take, the three task forces dispatched by Admiral Nimitz caused the Japanese to abandon their attack on Port Moresby in what was the first naval engagement fought without visual contact between the opposing forces. With it opened a new chapter in the annuals of warfare, with carrier-against-carrier, and thus was set the strategy for the remainder of the war at sea in the Pacific. Naval aviation had truly come of age.
Japanese losses of aircraft were especially severe, but more of the significance to Nimitz was the damage to the carriers Shokaku and Zuikaku, and the prize of Admiral Goto''s carrier Shoho. The toll reaped by the American aircraft was to pay dividends in the forthcoming Battle of Midway.
Commemorating the Battle of the Coral Sea Robert Taylor has chosen to portray the sinking of the Shoho in his dramatic new painting. When Commander Weldon Hamilton, leading one of the Lexington''s Dauntless squadrons, spotted the Shoho at 1040 on the morning of May 4th, 1942, the Japanese carrier''s fate was sealed. Within minutes she was hit by the full force of the Lexington''s dive bombers and torpedo aircraft, aided by the Yorktown''s attack group.
Smothered by a dozen bomb and seven torpedo hits, she was sunk within thirty minutes of the first sighting, causing an excited Commander Dixon of the Lexington to radio the immoral words "Dixon to carrier: Scratch one Flat Top".
Seen in Robert''s spectacular ren***ion are the Lexington''s SBD Dauntless dive bombers climbing out following delivery of their successful bombing attack. More SBDs followed them in while below the Devastator torpedo bombers swoop in to deliver their lethal cargo.
Each print in the e***ion is signed by SBD Dauntless pilots who flew in action in the Pacific adding great authenticity to this highly exclusive collector''s e***ion.

    Combat over the Reich.
Approaching their target at the oil refinery at Zwickau, 60 miles south west of Dresden, the 452nd Bomb Group''s B-17 Fortresses were bounced by 28 Me262 jets from JG 7. Screaming in from the six o/clock position, the jet pilots singles out the 3rd division just as they began their bombing run.
The crew of a B-17 Fortress desperately defend their unwieldy bomber against the determined, high-speed attack by the Me262 jet interceptors. Closing at almost three times the speed of their targets, each Me262 pilot has just fractions of a second to find his mark. The B-17 gunners have milliseconds to return their fire. Each interception is over in the blinking of an eye.
Robert''s brilliantly constructed and magnificently painted compositions, portrays with stunning beauty the awesome reality of aerial engagement that was commonplace in the skies above Europe during World War II. In this brief, poignant cameo, the outcome is indecisive: The B-17 has lost part of its tailplane which will make handling difficult on the way home. But its gunners, undeterred by the fearsome attack, are laying a wall of lead in the path of the enemy jet. The Luftwaffe pilot will be lucky to escape unscathed. In the distance more Me262s are diving into the fray, but shortly, 8th Airforce fighters will storm storming into the arena. The Fortress crews will not be short of guardians on the return journey to England.
With all the remarkable skills that have firmly established him as the most collected aviation artist in history, Robert Taylor has vividly brought to life this heart-stopping aerial combat in a breathtakingly beautiful aerial panorama.
Adding irreplaceable credence and collectability, each print is endorsed with the individual original signatures of Luftwaffe Aces who flew the Me262 during the final defense of Germany, and authenticated with the Wings of the Luftwaffe Collection seal and issued with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

    Remember Pearl Harbor.
December 7, 1941. Japanese Aichi dive-bombers make a final attempt to destroy the USS Nevada as she lay beached at Hospital Point. Behind her the destroyer USS Shaw is on fire, moments later she will explode. In the docks beyond, the battleship Pennsylvania, the cruiser Helena and the flagship Argonne can all be seen in the swirling palls of dense smoke.
