    My Way
    Frank Sinatra
    And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I''ll say it clear,
I''ll state my case, of which I''m certain.
    I''ve lived a life that''s full.
    I''ve traveled each and ev''ry highway;
And more, much more than this,
    I did it my way.
    Regrets, I''ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
    I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
    I did it my way.
Yes, there were times, I''m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
    I faced it all and I stood tall;
    And did it my way.
I''ve loved, I''ve laughed and cried.
I''ve had my fill; my share of losing.
    And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.
    To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
" Oh no, oh no not me,
    I did it my way".
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
    To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
    And did it my way!

Bà lão bảo thủ kia, sao có lời rồi mà lại bảo chưa
    Thế cái gì đây:
    Artist - Paul Anka
    PAPA
    Everyday my papa worked
To help to make ends meet
To see that we would eat
(To) keep those shoes upon my feet
Every night my papa would take
And tuck me in my bed
    Kiss me on my head
After all my prayers were said
Growing up with him was easy
    time just flew on by
    The years began to fly
He aged and so did I
    I could tell
    That mama wasn''''t well
Papa knew and deep down so did she
    So did she
    When she died
My papa broke down and cried
All he said was, ''''God, Why not take me!''''
Every night he sat there sleeping in his rocking chair
    He never went upstairs
    All because she wasn''''t there
Then one day my Papa said,
''''Son, I''''m proud (of) the way you''''ve grown
    make it on your own
    I''''ll be O.K. alone.''''
Every time I kiss my children
    Papa''''s words ring true
    ''''Your children live through you.
They''''ll grow and leave you, too''''
I remember every word my papa used to say
    I live that every day
He taught me well that way
Every night my papa would take
And tuck me in my bed
    Kiss me on my head
After all my prayers were said
Every night my papa would take
And tuck me in my bed
    Tuck me in my bed
After all my prayers were said...

Bài này chỉ có thể tóm tắt như sau "kinh điển của kinh điển"
    American Pie
    Don McLean
    Long, long time ago
    I can still remember
When that music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they''d be happy for a while
    But February made me shiver
    With every paper I delivered
    Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn''t take one more step
    I can''t remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride
But something touched me deep inside
    The day, the music died
So bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And good old boys were drinking whisky and rye
Singing "this''ll be the day that I die
This''ll be the day that I die"
Did you write the Book of Love?
And do you have faith in God above
If the bible tells you so?
Now do you believe in rock and roll?
Can music save your mortal soul?
And, can you teach me how to dance real slow?
Well, I know that you''re in love with him
''Cause I saw you dancing in the gym
You both kicked off your shoes
Man, I dig those rhythm and blues, ooh!
I was a lonely teenage broncing buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck
But I knew I was out of luck
    The day, the music died
    I was singing
    Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And good old boys were drinking whisky and rye
Singing "this''ll be the day that I die
This''ll be the day that I die"
Now for ten years, we''ve been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rolling stone
But that''s not how it used to be
When the jester sang for the king and queen
In a coat he borrowed from James Dean
And a voice that came from you and me
Oh, and while the king was looking down
The jester stole his thorny crown
    The courtroom was adjourned
    No verdict was returned
And while Lenin read a book on Marx
The quartet practiced in the park
And we sang dirges in the dark
    The day, the music died
    We were singing
    Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And good old boys were drinking whisky and rye
Singing "this''ll be the day that I die
This''ll be the day that I die"
Helter Skelter in the summer swelter
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter
Eight miles high and falling fast...
It landed foul on the grass
And the players tried for a forward pass
With the jester on the sidelines, in a cast
Now the half time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune
We all got up to dance
Oh, but we never got the chance
Because the players tried to take the field
The marching band refused to yield
Do you recall what was revealed
    The day, the music died?
    They were singing
    Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And good old boys were drinking whisky and rye
Singing "this''ll be the day that I die
This''ll be the day that I die"
And there we were all in one place
    A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again
So come on, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick
Jack Flash sat on a candlestick
''Cause fire is the devil''s only friend
And as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage
    No angel born in hell
    Could break that Satan''s spell
And as the flames climbed high into the night
    To light the sacrificial rite
I saw Satan laughing with delight
    The day, the music died
    He was singing
    Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And good old boys were drinking whisky and rye
Singing "this''ll be the day that I die
This''ll be the day that I die"
I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away
I went down to the sacred store
Where I heard the music, years before
But the man there said the music wouldn''t play
And in the streets the children screamed
The lovers cried and the poets dreamed
But not a word was spoken
The church bells all were broken
And the three men I admire most
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost
They caught the last train for the coast
    The day, the music died
    They were singing
    Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
And good old boys were drinking whisky and rye
Singing "this''ll be the day that I die

Hôm nay chủ nhà xin tiếp tục topic với bài này:
    WISH YOU WERE HERE
    (Pink Floyd)

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
    blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange
a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We''re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl,
    year after year,
running over the same old ground. What have we found?
    The same old fears,
    wish you were here.

    Greensleeves
    Blackmore''s Night
Alas my love, ye do me wrong t
    o cast me out discourteously,
And I have loved you for so long
    delighting in your company...
    Greensleeves was all my joy,
    Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves was my heart of gold
    And who but Lady Greensleeves...

    STREET FIGHTING MAN
    (Rolling Stones)

Evrywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy
cause summers here and the time is right for fighting in the street, boy
But what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock n roll band
    cause in sleepy london town
Theres just no place for a street fighting man
    No
Hey! think the time is right for a palace revolution
But where I live the game to play is compromise solution
Well, then what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock n roll band
    cause in sleepy london town
Theres no place for a street fighting man
    No
Hey! said my name is called disturbance
Ill shout and scream, Ill kill the king, Ill rail at all his servants
Well, what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock n roll band
    cause in sleepy london town
Theres no place for a street fighting man
    No

    Time Waits For No One
    (Rolling Stones)
    (M. Jagger/K. Richards)

Yes, star crossed in pleasure the stream flows on by
Yes, as we''re sated in leisure, we watch it fly
And time waits for no one, and it won''t wait for me
And time waits for no one, and it won''t wait for me
Time can tear down a building or destroy a woman''s face
Hours are like diamonds, don''t let them waste
Time waits for no one, no favours has he
Time waits for no one, and he won''t wait for me
Men, they build towers to their passing yes, to their fame everlasting
Here he comes chopping and reaping, hear him laugh at their cheating
And time waits for no man, and it won''t wait for me
Yes, time waits for no one, and it won''t wait for me
Drink in your summer, gather your corn
The dreams of the night time will vanish by dawn
And time waits for no one, and it won''t wait for me
And time waits for no one, and it won''t wait for me
No no no, not for me....
