I have just seen the post, and it sounds very interesting for me, the one who does not good at both written and spoken English. To my point of view, the development of technology bring us a lot of problem The above matter, which you have mentioned is also a big trouble.
Although the digital dossiers are increasingly used and very useful nowadays, it still brings people a lot of problem. For example, the information of a company will be pointed out, and then their secret working files or documents may be known by their rival companies. A lot of figures and accounting numbers may be uncovered. Then, it not only helps the working procedure of the company easier and faster but also reveals some very important things about the company.
    I am still confused.

    Dear all,
mtt_2503 is right, it is a little bit confusing. Let''s do it this way: we will write about one topic a week. For that week, we will write as many essays as we like, and I will also attempt to write one myself to offer my point of view.
This week, let''s write about "technology and privacy" as uhohwtf suggested. For the list of the topics, I suggest you email me the topics of your choice, and I will release a new topic on each Sunday. The reason I do this is to avoid the thread to become too crowded and confusing. If the number of topics sent to me is high, your topic may take a while to be published, but that''s the only way to make this thread more unified.
    Thank you,
    GenDo

    Technology and Privacy
The notion that advanced technologies make it easy to invade privacy through quick retrieval of personal information is widely received. However, I believe digitization of personal information at various government bodies adds no ad***ional risks than the paper-based system.
In most developed countries, citizens?T information has been digitized and stored by government and its agencies. This trend seems to make piracy easier because anyone with a computer and internet connection could hack into these agencies?T databases and retrieve other?Ts information easily. Furthermore, internet pirate activities are rampant these days, and it adds to peoplê?Ts worries about the safety of their information.
At the same time, millions of dollars are poured yearly into research at universities to further encryption and security technologies to prevent unauthorized people from accessing computer systems. Also, different government agencies hold just a piece of your information, and without appropriate authorization, even a government officer at one agency are not allowed to access other agencies?T databases. On top of those safety measurements, some government bodies, such as the military, even have their own network that is isolated from the general internet that all citizens have.
On the other hand, the paper system, in my opinion, is more prone to be accessed and even destroyed. One could imagine the ease of entering a government office, or even destroying a document facility. Once your paperwork is stolen or destroyed, it is lost for ever. Ad***ionally, a paper-based system is not convenient to retrieve information, of course with authorization, especially when the information one wants to retrieve resides at different physical locations.
Given the differences in an electronic and a paper-based information system, I think data digitization and other advanced technologies in general make the electronic system safer and the system of the future. With careful planning and sufficient safety measurements, the advance of technologies poses no threat to, if not protects, peoplê?Ts privacy.

    Hi,
mtt_2503 and ThiMinhKhai, what does "khoai" mean? I''ve lived overseas for a while and can''t keep up with the new slangs used in Vietnam any more.
Anyway, above is my first take at the topic "technology and privacy." Notice that the essay could be further developed to become complete. However, I want you to take a look and take notices of:
    1. This essay is to defend your opinion. There are no right or wrong, so I picked one side and go with it. The skills here are to write a persuasive essay, not about what''s true or how much knowledge we have about the topics. Really, if you can write an essay without specific knowledge about something, you have achieve basic persuasive writing skills. The challenge is to pick the opposite position and write another essay.
    2. I only state my opinions in the opening and the conclusion paragraphs. In the middle three paragraphs, I phrased everything in a neutral, matter-of-fact way. I didn''t inject my opinions or passions in these paragraphs to emphasize the persuasion of my arguments. To write a more complete essay, one may want to develop opening and closing sentences for these paragraphs. In those sentences, you may want to be subjective, while the main part remains citing evidence objectively.
I have received one suggestion so far in terms of topic for next week, I will post it this Sunday.
    Have a great day!

"Khoai" means very difficult. I don''t think this topic is difficult to write.
@mtt: you don''t need to conduct any research to write the essay. You just need to say what you think about it and explain why you think so in a well-arranged structure.

    How are you doing?
Technology and privacy is indeed a õ?okhoaiõ? topic.
What Gendosan mentioned is somehow true. I believe Gendosan perceived the issue from a rather optimistic approach.
I, on the other hand, would love to stick with all the cautions. Having said that, I am always pessimistic, kind of like õ?oBefore you have the rainbow, you have to put up with the rainõ?
However, I am not going to discuss about the hacking or virtual security, since itõ?Ts a never-ending competition between the locked gate and the theft; neither about the roles and responsibilities of government bodies who can assess personal data of literally anyone
My concern so far is mostly about the business sector. Let me give you an example.
Bank A has all the information of a certain client, who proposed for a mortgage loan.
Bank A outsoucred partially customer service function, letõ?Ts say its call center is operated by an Indian supplier, B, and the collection is made through another company, C, who is very efficient in collecting and handling bad debt. In reality, the number of outsourcing suppliers may be a lot more
So far, the above client has shared data to Bank A, who forward of course part of it to B and C. The risk of data leaking and hacking is triple by nature. And who knows if the security protocols in B and C is as strict as in Bank A when it comes to terms with clientõ?Ts data.
Let alone either A, B and C may use the clientõ?Ts data for extra benefits by sell bits of it to market research, insurance, retail companiesõ?Ư

This week''''''''s topic is " do you think that playing a game is fun only when you win?"
    Knock! Knock! Knock! anybody''''s home?
Some people says playing games is fun only when you win but I myself have different points of view. It is not about being the champion but unforgettable memories during the game and communication with our teammates.
First of all, playing games brings us fun when we look back at what we did during the match. It can be the image of a childlike adult sitting in front of the computer trying to catch as many fish as possible shouting desperately when she loses a pool of big fish and excitingly when she catches a lucky star to grow bigger in size .
    to be continued....
