Bayern Munich overtook Manchester United in money stakes

BERLIN, September 21 (DS) - European champions Bayern Munich have overtaken Manchester United side in the money stakes. Now they are the world's richest club, reported the Mirror.
Sportswear giant Adidas has agreed to buy a 10 per cent stake in Bayern, sending the club's value soaring to 470 million pounds.
Manchester United's market value has dropped to 353.3 million pounds just a year after they became football's first club, owning 1 billion pounds.
United's shares have dropped during the past 18 months.
The Mirror added that now German title holders express their interest in top stars David Beckham and Michael Owen.
The Adidas chief executive Herbert Hainer said: "They (Bayern) are the hottest club in Europe, if not the world, today. We want to leverage their exposure and popularity to the full."
