BC color 22/02 - Are beauty contests harmful?

Location: Lang Thuong junior high school, Chua Lang street.

2. Discussion:
a. Should we give a change to beggars on the street (especially begging children)?
Sometimes, u are hanging out and eating with friends in sidewalk, one beggar will approach to u with hand outstretched. If u give him a change, u will feel happy for helping a poor miserable man, u will may create a belief in that man that therê?Tre still kindness and good things in this hasten life. But u will may get annoyed with other beggars that know u are ready to give changes from the first one. You will may also lend a hand for abusing children to go begging.
What will u do? Give a change to him or not?
b. Are beauty contests harmful?
Beauty contests have been running annually since 1951, and although it is less popular in the UK now than it was in 1968, when it attracted 27.5 million TV viewers, it attracts an enormous worldwide audience - around 3 billion viewers in 115 countries. There are beauty contests for various categories of age, *** and ***uality that standardize the outside and inside beauty, also direct people toward beauty, aesthetics? But in contrary, the more contests are held, the more pressure woman will get to conform their appearance. The unfairness or losing self-confident feeling of the ugly toward beauty contests hasn''t even been accounted.
So what is your idea about whether beauty contests are a good thing or not? Beat me up to defense our idea!

22/03/09 - BC color: Competition in School and Workplace
I/ Time and Location:

II/ Content:
1) Warm-up: funny game
2) Listen to a song and fill the blanks with the missing word
3) Competition in school or workplace
Some people argue that competition is a great motivator, that it is worth encouraging and that it does work to bring out the best in people in both school and workplace. However, it is still a controversial issue whether we should encourage hight rate of competition in school and workplace or not because of some bad-side effect such as the stress and tension possibly it may cause among staff or students.
So, do you think that the disadvantages of hight rate of competition in school and workplace outweight its advantages?

05/04/2009: BCC - A Trip to Bat Trang Pottery Village magnify
I/ Time and Location:
- 8am to 2 or 3 pm, Sunday 05/04/2009.
- we will meet at 8am at the entrance of Thuy Loi University.
- Bat Trang Pottery Village.
II/ Programme
Bat Trang Pottery Village is situated on the left bank of the Red River, about 10km away from the center of Hanoi. It is the most ancient and famous pottery village of Vietnam that still continues to work today and is constantly developing.
We are pleased to inform all BCers that we will held a special training course for BCers and every people who wants to have efficient knowledge about Bat Trang Pottery Village.
This course will last for nearly one day from 8 am to at least 2 or 3 pm. We will have lunch at Bat Trang village, (you can bring your own food if you want).
It is required that you prepare information about Bat Trang as each member will have to present his our her prepared knowledge about this tourist attraction. If you are already a member of Tour Group, plz contact your group leader Mr Phong to receive your task, (prepare something for this course)! ^.^
