Tớ nghe nói hiện nay ngoài D. Krall nổi đình nổi đám còn có nhiều nữ danh ca nhạc Jazz khác như Claire Martin, Jacqui Naylor, Jacintha, Stacey Kent, Jane Monheit, Kitty Margolis, Tierney Sutton....

Các cậu đã ai nghe họ chưa? Ở HN không kiếm nổi mấy cái đĩa của mấy danh ca này.

Tôi cũng vừa tập tễnh nghe jazz , vừa mua thữ CD "Salt" của Lizz Wright . Cô ca sĩ Mỹ đen này có giọng nghe não nũng, rõ từng chữ , như thấm vào hồn . Cô còn rất trẽ và trình bày nhạc do chính cô viết . Các bạn nghe thử ở http://www.lizzwright.net .
Tôi cũng mê Nina Simone . Giọng khàn như khói thuốc, mà rất khoẻ . Nghe là phê luôn .

Thế có bác nào nghe nhạc của Carol Kidd không ? Tôi không thạo nhạc Jazz lắm nhưng cách đây mấy năm có lần đi xem một buổi biểu diễn của bà này ở Hà Nội, nghe xong mê luôn nhưng ở đây kiếm được có mỗi 1 CD của bà này thôi. Có ai biết ở đâu còn nữa không?

CAROL KIDD
Carol Kidd became a full-time professional singer in 1990 after Frank Sinatra personally invitd her to appear with him at Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow. He later wrote in his fan magazine Perfectly Frank - "Carol Kidd is the best kept secret of British jazz." This endorsement from Old Blue Eyes gave Carol the confidence to sell her hotel business in Scotland and make singing her career. Almost immediately she was invited to appear at the internationally acclaimed Ronnie Scott''s Club in London. Tony Bennett was also singing in London at the time and he made a point of coming to hear Carol, later declaring "You should be world famous. Wher''ve you been?" To mark the occasion Tony, who is a painter of some note, presented Carol with a sketched portrait of herself.
Within a year she was voted Best Performer at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival and her recording "The Night We Called It A Day" was voted Best Jazz Recording at the UK Music Retailers Awards. Since then she has been voted Best Vocalist at the Cannes International Jazz Awards, which helped establish her international reputation, leading to invitations to appear in Las Vegas, New Jersey, Boston, Europe and the Far East. She has not yet managed to fulfil all the invitations but hopes to do so before the millenium. In fact, she is already considering options on offer to "sing in" the year 2000 with her inimitable version of her native anthem ''Auld Lang Syne''.
Carol Kidd is highly esteemed in the music business not only for her wonderful talent but also for the selfless way she gives her services to good causes. This was recognised in the spring of 1998 when she was invited to donate prizes at the Duke of Edinburgh Awards in Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh. Subsequently she was invited to meet the Queen and Prince Philip at Windsor Castle at a Reception For The Arts, and the final accolade came in October 1998 when she was awarded the MBE for her services to jazz.

Tớ không khoái bà này lắm.
Nhưng mà bài When I dream của bà ấy nghe phê khủng khiếp.
Ai nghe Staycey Kent chưa? Tớ mới nghe Collection 1 của cô này (audiophile selection). ....quên sầu!

Cái CD Collection 2 của cô này nghe cũng rất hay Hoasung 274 ạ
