To face trong câu "Another problem facing the new administration is the record budget deficit" mang nghĩa 6b ở trên. "Một vấn đề khác đang trực diện tân chính phủ là nạn thâm thủng ngân sách ở mức kỷ lục".
Trong văn chuơng báo chí Việt hay có cụm "Nhà nuớc phải đối mặt với..."; hoặc "Nguời dân đối mặt với..." và chúng ta có thể dùng nghĩa 6a (be confronted by) ở trên để dịch chữ "Đối mặt".
(The federal government is facing difficult decisions about its finances). Ở đây, to face đuợc dùng là active voice.
Thế nhưng, ta lại có thể dùng passive voice: "The federal government is faced with difficult decisions about its finances".
Tóm lại :
1. Problem faces Government
2. Government faces Problem
3. Government is faced with Problem(s)
đều đuợc cả.

Em không hiểu nghĩa câu in nghiêng T_T Bác nào dịch dùm em với T_T
[b "extreme" có thể dịch là "cực biên" không ạ?
2. Trong cụm confirmatory data analysis thì confirmatory dịch là "xác định" có chuẩn không ạ? (Đối lập với cụm này là cụm "exploratory data analysis")
3. Em không rõ câu dưới đây sử dụng cấu trúc ngữ pháp gì T_T:
The test described here is more fully the null-hypothesis statistical significance test.
4. Trong câu "Placed under a Geiger counter, it produces 10 counts per minute" thì count[/b] nghĩa là gì ạ?
