Verification of Fee Status for Research Applicants
Students are charged different fees depending on whether they are classed as home or overseas for fee purposes. The two main criteria for home status are:
1. "ordinary residence" within the UK for three years prior to the start of the course providing that residence is not for the main purpose of receiving full-time education and
2. that by 1 September of the year of entry the applicant can be considered to be "settled" in the UK. By this, we usually mean the applicant holds a UK passport or has Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK. Leave to Remain or visas with a expiry date attached to them do not usually fall into this category.
In most cases status for fee purposes will be clear, but if there is any doubt it is essential that you should refer to the Admissions Section for a ruling. In particular, commitments on the level of tuition fees to be charged should not be made without prior consultation with the Admissions Section.
The University will classify a student as being liable to pay the overseas rate of composition fees unless:
1. He or she has been ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom for a qualifying period of three years immediately preceding 1 September, 1 January or 1 April closest to the beginning of the first term of his or her course provided that he or she has not been resident therein, during any part of the three year period, wholly or primarily for the purpose of receiving full-time education, and will be settled in the UK by the relevant date mentioned above (therefore the length of his or her stay in the UK is not limited by UK immigration control); or
2. He or she is a national of a member state of the European Union or is the son or daughter of such a national and he or she has been ordinarily resident in the European Economic Area throughout the three year period referred to in paragraph (a) provided that he or she has not been resident therein, during any part of that period, wholly or mainly for the purpose of receiving full-time education; or
3. He or she would qualify under paragraph (a) or (b) above were it not solely for the fact that he or she, his or her spouse or his or her parent was temporarily employed outside the United Kingdom, or the European Economic Area, as the case may be; or
4. He or she is a refugee ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom, and has not ceased to be so resident since he or she was recognised by the UK Home Office as a refugee or is the spouse or child of such a refugee; or
5. He or she has been granted Exceptional Leave to Remain in the UK or is the child or spouse of such a person and he or she has continued to live in the UK since that status was granted and will continue to live in the UK until 1 September 2001; or
6. He or she has been admitted to a course as a result of arrangement between the University and an institution outside the United Kingdom for the exchange of students on a fully reciprocal basis; or
7. He or she: i) is a national or the son or daughter or spouse of a national of Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway; and ii) has been ordinarily resident in the EEA throughout the three-year period referred to in paragraph (a); and iii) has, or who has a parent or spouse who has, entered the UK for the purposes of employment, has been employed since entering the UK and will continue to be employed until the qualifying date referred to in paragraph (a).

* Denmark (excluding the Faroe Islands and Greenland)

* France (including the overseas department of Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana and Reunion)
* Germany (including Heligoland)
* Greece
* Hungary
* The Republic of Ireland
* Italy
* Latvia
* Lithuania
* Luxembourg
* Malta
* Netherlands
* Poland
* Portugal(including the Azores and Madeira but excluding Macao)
* Romania
* Slovakia
* Slovenia
* Spain (including Ceuta, Melilla, The Balearic Islands and the Canaries)
* Sweden
* The United Kingdom (with Gibraltar)
2. The European Economic Area (EEA) includes all countries in the EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
3. Persons recognised by the UK authorities as immigrants, settled persons or refugees are those whose passports have been endorsed accordingly, or who have been issued with an official letter confirming their status by the Home Office.
4. References to the United Kingdom (UK) include the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
Fee Status Assessment
The Admissions Section will query your fee status when this is not initially clear from the information provided in your application.
You will then be sent a Fee-Status Assessment Form which you will need to complete and return to us, attaching any relevant documents. A decision will then be made regarding your fee-status and we will then write to you informing you of the result.
Once your status has been formally established, your University record will be changed to reflect this.

cho mình hỏi các bạn ở Notts, mình muốn học master of marketing ở Notts nhưng lúc học Dh mình lại học về Luật kinh doanh, mình có gửi thư hỏi trường rùi, trường ko chấp nhận sviên chưa học marketing ở ĐH theo học master ở trường.
Ko biết ở Notts có chương trình pre-master cho những sinh viên như mình ko dzị các bạn?

Applicants for the MA in Marketing will normally have studied or be studying a management/business studies degree with at least one core marketing module in their degree course.
Pre-master ko phải là 1 degree nên ko chắc đã đc chấp nhận. Nhưng nhiều khi ng ta cũng flexible lắm.Bạn nên email lại hỏi trường xem học pre-master có đc chấp nhận ko và nếu có thì nên học pre-master về gì và ở đâu. Castle college ( củng ởvnottingham) có một số khoá học Pre-master, trường này lại rất thân với Notts Uni nên có thể sẽ dễ đc chấp nhận hơn. Nói gì thì nói, bạn cũng nên hỏi qua trường Notts trước đã. Xin loi em chị vừa đi công tác về, bây giờ mới trả lời em đc. University of East Anglia là trường về Environment hàng đầu nước Anh đấy, có cơ hội đc HB 50%.

.......em muốn hỏi các anh chị 1 chút.......hiện em là sinh viên năm 1 .......em mới có ý định đi học ở UK thôi.......nếu học về chuyên ngành tài chính ngân hàng, thì em nên học khoá học nào?........vì ở UK có nhiều khoá liên quan đến lĩnh vực này, vậy thì khoá nào là tốt hơn cả nếu em đã xác định làm trong lĩnh vực ngân hàng?.......và học trường nào thì tốt?.......anh chị cho em 1 vài cái tên theo thứ tự chất lượng giảm dần đc ko ạ?........
.......em có thể apply xin học theo kiểu 1 năm diploma, rồi học năm thứ 2,3, tức là mất thêm 2 năm nữa để hoàn thành bằng ĐH ko ạ?......em thấy bạn em bảo ở Úc có thể đi như thế thì chắc ở Anh na ná vậy .......có chương trình nào tối ưu cho sinh viên năm 1 ở VN ko ạ?.......đương nhiên là chấp nhận học lại rồi ( trừ vụ học A levels ra ).......

Tớ mới TN ĐH thôi.Học C.E. Giờ đang tim hiểu để đi học tiếp. Vấn đề là đang phân vân ko biết nên đi học tiếp về C.E hay đi học về quản lý. E thấy có trường cho học master về quản lý mà. Hoặc là học C.E chuyên về ứng dụng cũng đc! Các bạn có thể giúp mình một số thông tin đc ko? UK hay Astr cũng đc. ( yêu cầu, tài chính,..v..v) Hiện tại mình chưa có ielts ko biết có nên sang bên kia rồi mới học ko? hay là nên thì ở nhà, tiếng anh có thể nói là dốt lắm. E đi tự túc thôi, ko dám mơ học bổng đâu!!!
