Call for MS and PhD in Korea

Networking lab, Kyung Hee University, South Korea is seeking application from intelligent, potent, and diligent foreign students for pursuing MS and PhD for the spring semester 2007.

Few words about Networking Lab, Kyung Hee University:

Networking lab has commenced its expe***ion towards immense realm of research in the field of Communication and Advanced Networking in the year 1999, under the guidance of Professor Choong Seon Hong. Since then this lab is performing quality research in this area and continuously proving its excellence through publishing high quality research papers. Last year (2005) this lab has published 12 SCI and SCIE level Journal, 12 International Conference, 4 Domestic Journal and 23 Domestic Conference papers. Till now (May 2006) lab has already published 14 International Conference and 4 SCI and SCIE level Journal papers. Mission of the lab is to perform innovative research in the areas of wired and wireless communications systems. Members of the lab are investigating wireless and mobility problems such as routing protocols and algorithms, resource and service location protocols, performance evaluations of TCP, ubiquitous systems, context aware ubiquitous environment, mechanisms to improve throughput over wireless links, network management and network security. Research environment of the lab is a combination of earnest endeavor of quality students from different countries sharing a wide variety of sate-of the art of technological knowledge. We strongly believe that our dedicated effort will certainly add values to operation towards improving the super highway of current era of information technology.

? Conduct high quality research in emerging areas of wireless mobile computing, networking, multimedia, and distributed computing
? Disseminate research results through journal and conference publications, technical reports, and public domain software
? Attract and recruit high quality students, researchers and faculty
? Train students and personnel in state-of-the-art Telecom technology. Develop workforce to meet needs of the "Telecom Corridor" in the World
? Interact with industries and research organizations for collaborations, technology transfer, student internships and placements
? Work on the state of the art research projects for industries
? Foster interdisciplinary research programs

6. Study on Active Network Security on Integrated Environments of Wireless Networks and Wireless Networks by IITA
7. Development of Ubiquitous Computing Mechanism for ZigBee Networks by Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy

Funding:

Korean government offers two different schemes of scholarship *****pport educational and living expenses:

1. IITA (Korean government IT scholarship) scholarship
i. MS researchers 10,000,000 won per year
ii. PhD researchers 14,000,000 won per year
2. KRF (Korea Research Foundation) scholarship
i. MS researchers 8,400,000 won per year
ii. PhD researchers 10,800,000 won per year
Conversion rate: 1 USD = 1,000 won


Eligibility:

To qualify primarily for the scholarship, applicants should have:

? For MS and MS leading PhD Candidates:
o BS or BE in the field related to Information and Communication Technologies
o IELTS band score 6.0 or Equivalent TOEFL score (213 CBT)
o Excellent academic back ground, preferably CGPA 3.5 and above
? For PhD Candidates:
o MS, MCS or M.Sc in the field related to Information and Communication Technologies
o IELTS band score 6.0 or Equivalent TOEFL score (213 CBT)
o Excellent academic back ground, preferably CGPA 3.5 and above
o Preference will be given to the candidates having publications in well-known conferences and journals
? PhD or MS leading PhD candidates are encouraged more
