Hi guys :D (still wanna use guys by the way)
So lovely to have chance to attend the meeting this morning, as this is the first time I have ever been *****ch a club. Everyone was very excited and enthusiastic, which is necessary for the so-called ?osurvival? of a club. I mean, you guys have a very nice team, and hopefully I can contribute some ?otiny littlê? things to make it even better. Due to the fact that I can not attend the meeting very frequently (will try to), I just want to leave some feedback here so that you can gain something for the next sessions.
Thanks to the attendance this morning, I have come to a lot of strengths that you possess. The very first thing is that, you have quite good leaders. You have a competent management board, which should be cherished. The meeting this morning went on quite smoothly, right? Second, you have enthusiastic members. I could see that even when your English was not good enough, you still tried to express your ideas. Your willingness will be highly appreciated and your effort will pay off. You now have everything in your hands, which will surely result in a success.
However, here are some of the things that I want to contribute:
    1. You should have the so-called ?oevaluation sheet? or ?ooral presentation checklist? given to all members before someone is going to make a presentation. Everyone can listen to the presentation and then give some comments or feedbacks. After the presentation, the presenter will have a pile of evaluation sheets so that he/she can know his/her strengths and weaknesses. The evaluation will cover both your command of English and your presentation skills which is helpful in the future. This is a little bit demanding, I know, but then it can help you a lot. I have some samples of evaluation sheet with me, so if you like, I will give them to the management board and you can use them as reference. It would be much better; then, if the leaders have some short presentations for other members about the criteria so that you all can know how to evaluate.
    2. For the discussion, it is great that you have one facilitator and one note-taker in each group. However, things can be improved if you guys have one report of all the ideas listed on the board or in your notes (I mean, ALL the ideas of ALL groups). These ideas can be used for your writing. When you get back home, you can write an essay about the topic of the discussion and then give it to your partner who can check it for you. I suggest that we should have writing pairs and you will swap your paper with the other member to get the comments back for improvement.
    3. Another contribution for the discussion is related to reading materials. It would be ideal if each member can find one article about the topic of the discussion to bring to the meeting. You then will share your ideas with the other members in the group about what you have read. This will make your arguments sharper and more convincing. In ad***ion, you will have a collection of all materials related to one topic for the whole club which you can refer to when you want.
Basically that is all I want to say. I have many other trivial ideas about the time keeper for the presentation and some other ?orules? like paying money for your Vietnamese but maybe I am too ambitious. Hope that my feedback and suggestions can help.
    See you next Sun,
    Best regards,

Have just come across a very nice passage and wanna share ^^

How to Give a Bad Talk
    David A. Patterson
    Computer Science Division
    University of California-Berkeley
    Circa 1983
Ten commandments (with annotations gleaned from Patterson''s talk by Mark D. Hill):
    1. Thou shalt not be neat
Why waste research time preparing slides? Ignore spelling, grammar and legibility. Who cares what 50 people think?
    2. Thou shalt not waste space
Transparencies are expensive. If you can save five slides in each of four talks per year, you save $7.00/year!
    3. Thou shalt not covet brevity
Do you want to continue the stereotype that engineers can''t write? Always use complete sentences, never just key words. If possible, use whole paragraphs and read every word.
    4. Thou shalt cover thy naked slides
You need the suspense! Overlays are too flashy.
    5. Thou shalt not write large
Be humble -- use a small font. Important people sit in front. Who cares about the riff-raff?
    6. Thou shalt not use color
Flagrant use of color indicates uncareful research. It''s also unfair to emphasize some words over others.
    7. Thou shalt not illustrate
Confucius says ``A picture = 10K words,'''' but Dijkstra says ``Pictures are for weak minds.'''' Who are you going to believe? Wisdom from the ages or the person who first counted goto''s?
    8. Thou shalt not make eye contact
You should avert eyes to show respect. Blocking screen can also add mystery.
    9. Thou shalt not skip slides in a long talk
You prepared the slides; people came for your whole talk; so just talk faster. Skip your summary and conclusions if necessary.
    10. Thou shalt not practice
Why waste research time practicing a talk? It could take several hours out of your two years of research. How can you appear spontaneous if you practice? If you do practice, argue with any suggestions you get and make sure your talk is longer than the time you have to present it.
Commandment X is most important. Even if you break the other nine, this one can save you.
