Bayer 04 Leverkusen beat FC Barcelona in a nail-biting UEFA Champions League match in Germany but there were no such nerves in Prague where AC Sparta Praha routed Feyenoord 4-0 on Matchday Three.

Missed penalty
A goal from Luis Enrique gave FC Barcelona a 1-0 half-time lead against Leverkusen, for whom goalkeeper Hans-Jửrg Butt missed a penalty on the half hour, but the 1. Bundesliga outfit showed enormous character to fight back and claim maximum points.

Excellent play
Seven minutes after the interval Yildiray Bastỹrk drove home from 25 metres following excellent build-up play by the home side and Oliver Neuville tucked the ball away from a Bernd Schneider cross with a little over 20 minutes remaining to send Klaus Toppmửller's side to the top of Group F.

Dramatic match
It was an equally dramatic evening at the Municipal de Riazor stadium as RC Deportivo La Coruủa, buoyed by the introuduction of substitute Walter Pandiani in the 61st minute, came from behind to defeat Manchester United FC 2-1. The Uruguayan cancelled out Paul Scholes' first-half opener in the 86th minute before Nourredine Naybet sent the home fans wild with a last-gasp winner.

Dark horses
After drawing with reigning champions FC Bayern Mỹnchen in Germany last week, AC Sparta Praha were in superlative form on Tuesday as they thumped Feyenoord in Prague. Lukỏs Hartig after 24 minutes and Vladimớr Labant with a penalty seven minutes before the interval scored the first-half goals either side of Ulrich van Gobbel's dismissal for a second yellow card. Marek Kincl and Jirớ Jarosik both struck after the break to leave the Dutch side winless from two games.

Celtic victory
While reigning champions Bayern Munich secured their first win of this year's campaign - Giovane Elber netting twice in a 3-1 success away to FC Spartak Moscow - Celtic FC won the battle of two former European champions in Glasgow, a Henrik Larsson goal securing three crucial points for the Scottish side against FC Porto. A driven corner from the right caused panic in the visitors' penalty area and the prolific Swedish international was on hand to stab home past Sergei Ovchinnikov from close range after 37 minutes.

Fenerbahỗe beaten at home
Olympique Lyonnais defeated Group F opponents Fenerbahỗe SK 1-0 with virtually the last kick of the match at the Sỹkrỹ Saraỗoglu stadium in Istanbul, Christophe Delmotte the scorer. There were also late goals in Trondheim as Rosenborg BK and Juventus FC drew 1-1, Bent Skammelsrud levelling for the Norwegians with an 89th-minute penalty. Lille LOSC beat Olympiakos Piraeus FC 3-1 in the night's remaining Champions League game.
