Dear all friends, I create this box in order to invite members of English club to join in professional disscusions of CLUB PRO, with my honor. This Club is dedicated to all members, not just the excellent ones. I hope we can cooperate well for further interesting activities.
Previously, let me begin with something related to reading skill: Theoretically, many people can remember the definitions of 2 different basic skills for reading: skimming and scanning. Thus, not many really understand their difference when they apply those skills. So, the question for discussion this time is:
to you, what is a real defference between skimming and scanning when you''re reading?
This is just a question for discussion, not the question for betting so we don''t have the only one correct answer. However, the most supported answer will surely get my vote. Enjoy studying and thanks for reading.

Dear all friends, did you have a good mornig? or at least a good night? In all ways, I wish you a good day today.
While you''''re searching for the question''''s answer yesterday, please allow me to continue with the second question, as a matter of fact, in order not to lose the topic behind. Of course this topic is quite complicate with its questions, so I did not think there will be many answers here. The second question may be quite difficult to whom don''''t know about English literature but if you''''re interested in, you may have your answer as well. Personally, I think it''''s helpful to your English studying in future: How to realize the difference between metaphor and synecdoche? Unless you have definite understanding about these terms, please review the figurative speech of English literature. You''''ll get their definitions.
Once a again, I would like to remind you that this is a question for discussion, not the question for betting. The most supported answer will surely get my vote. Thanks for reading and enjoy studying.

For the first question, I have two definitions to clarify the differences between skimming and scanning :
--> Skimming means reading very quickly. It involves selective reading of the most important parts of the text in order to find out how the text is organised and get a general idea of what the text is about.
The way in which a text is organised gives us a clue as to what is the most important part to read.
--> Scanning means moving your eyes over a text very quickly in order to find something specific and easily recognisable. When scanning you are looking for particular information (e.g.names, places, dates, specific phrases).
    Have fun all !!!

Thanks bella, your effort putting in this first answer gives me so much encouragement. Do we have more ideas about skimming and scanning?

    Dear all friends,
How are you today? It''s a very hot day today. I''m drinking a cup of cold milk and listening to "i just fall in love again" sang by Anna Murray while preparing for the next question. But first, I''d like to say something to Bella, you''ll receive my votes for your answer unless we have any new idea in 1 week, from now on. Thanks again for your effort.
Now, it''s time for the new question. The question for today''s discussion is related to literature, one again: What is the difference between rhyme ang rhythm in poetry? Please give an example.
Enjoy studying and thanks for reading.

I think rhythm can be considered as the drum beats,It is the way people stop theis speaking in a moment in poetry
Ex: "Trăm năm trong cõi người ta
CHữ tài chữ mệnh khéo là ghét nhau"
    The rhythm is 2-2-2....
One more example: When you go to a karaoke shop, you choose 1 song and you don''t sing. The rhythm of that song is what you here
    About rhyme, it''s easier
Ex"Trăm năm trong cõi người ta
Chữ tài chữ mệnh khéo là ghét nhau"
The rhyme is :"ta" and "là"

Dear Akira, I have nothing to say but thanks and...congratulations. You totally achieved the votes with your perfect answer.
Below are the exact definitions of rhyme & rhythm.
Rhyme: the similarity or likeness of sound existing between two words; the repetition of sounds that are similar or identical; expresses strong feelings and enhances the meaning and impact of poetry
masculine rhyme: the rhyme of one-syllable words or words with a final stressed syllable (light/sight, defeat/retreat)

feminine rhyme: occurs in words of two or more syllables; stress is placed on a syllable other than the last (better/setter, Cindy/windy)

internal rhyme: the repetition of similar sounds within lines

end rhyme: the repetition of similar sounds at the end of lines

perfect/exact/true rhyme: different initial consonant sounds are followed by similar vowel sounds (tie/lie, meet/feet)

approximate/slant/off rhyme: only the final consonant sounds are identical (comb/tomb, cat/cot, hope/cup); see consonance
rhyme scheme: the pattern of rhymes formed by the end rhyme in a poem; first sound is a, second sound is b, third sound is c, etc.
Rhythm: the regular pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables (beats) we hear in poetry; stress is simply the greater amount of emphasis we give to a syllable in speaking; stressed syllable is accented (long); unstressed syllable is unaccented (short)
Anyway, I have something to admit into our club. As we''re talking about professional aspects of English, I think we better take advantage on using this language to improve our personal qualification. I hope we will give English examples next time, as a matter of fact, to conquer the higher purpose of knowledge in other facets.
Thanks for cooperation and see you tomorrow.

Dear Huy, what a great morning that I receive your compliments for my just-beginning topic. Merci beaucoup, Huy. That''s partly the answer for your question about my other language ability.
Actually, I dare not agree that I have reached the academic level of English because I still need to learn alot from the other friends and you...we learn from each other, right?
Just like other people, I like music and movie but politic...well, it seems like I have not enough qualification for this aspect. Excuse me, please. So if you don''t mind, we may have a talk on Yahoo Messenger, my nick name is: nstonily
See you later and thanks for everything.

Good morning everyone, I had a beautiful morning with my new friend, Huy and I still remember that I have something for our discussion, today.
The question for today is: What do you think about this topic?...Well, just kidding, but I really hope to reaceive your idea contribution so that we can better it. If you have any complaint or support for club PRO, please feel free to write it out here. By the way, I want to say that I''m not the only one who can make questions in this topic. All members who like to join in can make questions for the others as well because...we learn from each other, right? Thanks for your support during the last time.
And now, we''ll return to the question for discussion, I mean the real one ^_^. Many of us have known the meaning of 2 words "equipment" and "instrument" in Vietnamese since we were in high school. The teachers usually tell us that the word "instrument" is used for musical things instead of the word "equipment". So, the question will be: Why do the word "instrument" is used for musical things instead of the word "equipment"?. If you want more information, I must admit that this question is related to linguistic, the language science.
That''s all for today. Hope to see your answer soon.
Enjoy studying and thanks for reading...and answering ^_^
