hola cham , that''s also my response for other lang... lol.
to be honest , music is 1 of my favorites , among muzik soccer movies........
i definitely prefer having a talk in reality as i do evryday , as it is my job , u no . but that''s no problem . i betcha i''ll add u to my buddy-list for a virtual cyber talk . jajajaajajajajaj
to be honest , linguistics is beyond my ability , although i learnt alittle bit at skool < fonetics, stylistics and other stuff... but i gotta confess thats 1 of the most boring....
go ahead ,cham . i think ur doing a great job . more discussions ''d be made or smth
    good luck
Dear Huy, what a great morning that I receive your compliments for my just-beginning topic. Merci beaucoup, Huy. That''''s partly the answer for your question about my other language ability.
Actually, I dare not agree that I have reached the academic level of English because I still need to learn alot from the other friends and you...we learn from each other, right?
Just like other people, I like music and movie but politic...well, it seems like I have not enough qualification for this aspect. Excuse me, please. So if you don''''t mind, we may have a talk on Yahoo Messenger, my nick name is: nstonily
See you later and thanks for everything.

hi all! great to know this club. I see many good questions here, lets raise our knowledge guys.
Here''s my answer for the question about instrument and equipment. An instrument in general is a tool for measuring and controlling. One special property of an instrument is it takes inputs and produces outputs. Clearly, musical devices share the same property and we should call it instruments. Equipments is just tools that provide mechanical advantages, for example, the hammer can push nails into wood while human bare hands can''t
Keep giving out interesting questions Chambres, it''s help us a lot! Got more ideas guys, post it here

Hi Huy, so you major in German? Wow, it''s a big surpise...German is very difficult but closely related to English. I don''t want to be curious but are you an interpretor? I guess talking online would be very useful for this profession and you''re a very hard-working learner. I''m also very interesting in music, movie and sports, so feel free to be online by every evening weekend. Thanks for adding me to your list.
BTW, I also cofess that...well, I still not have the answer for the question this time yet. It''s just a curiousity when I was studying this subject few years ago and even the professor couldn''t asnwer it. But may be my professor doesn''t know much as you guys...
My purpose in creating this topic is to make a place where we can learn from each other and discuss, ask, answer...so I hope to learn from you, too.
Finally, what we get when we study English? a high salary job? a chance to go studying abroad? a tool to discover Western culture?...That''s still a big question in club PRO.
Enjoy studying & thanks for reading.

Hi gaming, thank you for your quick answer and your big support to this club. I''ve never dream that I can receive such a big support from you for this topic. You must be a very qualified English learner because, well, normal learners don''t care of such too specific knowledge. Actually, who care of it? Most of us just need to admit knowledge from our teachers without even a wondering moment.
Your interesting answer totally correct. It gave the exact definitions of two different tools which funtionally explained the basic difference between those 2 words. However, I still not be able to give you my vote until next week if we don''t have more ideas, just like Bella''s situation. We need more searching on the origins of these words in order to heighten our knowledge. I repeat, your answer is totally correct, but we need something from the liguistic espects. Hope to receive new answers from all of you.
Enjoy studying and thanks for reading. Good night.

Hi Huy, thanks for your interesting question. It''s the word musik you used which is a clue I realized your major. Of course, French is musique and English is music.
    Below is my answer.
The longest word in any of the major English language dictionaries is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, a 45-letter word which refers to a lung disease contracted from the inhalation of very fine silicious particles. Research has discovered that this word was originally intended as a hoax. It has since been used in a close approximation of its originally intended meaning, lending at least some degree of vali***y to its claim.
Please don''t ask me to read it, thanks.

Good morning dear all friends, the previous question of Huy about the longest word in English gave me a very interesting idea for the question today. Thanks again, Huy.
Soon I realize that the facets about English vocabulary conceal alot of interesting knowledge, and happiness as well, waiting for us to discover. That''s the reason why we''ll pay attention to English vocabulary today. Somebody may hate it but I don''t because the rest may be eager to learn about such drab things in life.
OK, I won''t waste your time anylonger. Time is money, rigt? Please read carefully the question for discussion today: How did the word jackass come to describe someone behaving in a negative or idiotic manner?Well, moeny is time, too. So I''ve tosay good bye for now. Keep in touch.
Enjoy studying and thanks for reading.

well cham thanks i just woke up & got straight to yr topic
i no alot of words that stem from some legend or sum1 ,e.g: boycott . but for jackass , hmm i got no idea exactly . is it from 2 words jack & ass . the latter definitely means smth , jajajajajaj.... btw , do u no the tv. series called jackass that came out recently ? they r among the most kick-ass series
and there''s alot 2 say bout dj . actually , most of serious dj''s can''t sing well . i''m not an exception . hope we could talk bout this topic sometime if u want . that''d surely enrich yr vocabulary in this aspect.
it''s high noon now . it''s still so hot & humid today . guess i''ll go out & take a walk
    tc
