I''ve read this two-page forum, and I dindn''t find the answer to the first question: what''s the difference between metaphor and synecdoche?
So let me try to do that:
    - Metaphor usually consists of 2 parts that are called respectively the compared one (1))and the one that we use to compare (2), or academically the tenor and the vehicule. And normally they are linked by the preposition "of" or they are just juxtaposed.
EX: "That throws some light on the question." Throwing light is a metaphor because there is no actual light.
    - Meanwhile synecdoche just comprises 1 part. Furthermore, this part is one aspect of something and it is used to represent the whole thing, and vice versa we use the whole thing to represent one aspect.
EX: His parents bought him a new set of wheels (car
Use your head [brain] to figure it out."
I like this forum very much, so I have a proposal. To be honest, when i read this forum, I came up with the idea for enhancing not only writing skills but also speaking ones. Why don''t you gather together to find out a new method to reach the said target. For instance, we can create a speaking club just here in HANOI and have a real english-speaking club atmosphere filled with interactions.
I am now a student, and in my humble opinion, the summer 2-month vacation will be meaningful if we can do something useful to "upgrade our language abilities

I think the idea is good. One thing I notice about this box, ironically, is that in most threads, everyone speaks VIETNAMESE. Consequently, destroy the whole purpose of this box. The creation of this topic encourages people to use English exclusively. Kudos to you, Chambres.
However, I am not particular fond of the structure, in which we throw together "all aspects of life into one little corner". Why don''t we just create a new thread and put [English Only] or something in the title?

    Hi everybody,
I already go through the topic and i find that your EL is very good. But one thing i want to say that sometime you abbreviate the words,so sometime for others members, when they join this topic, they can not understand what are you talking about.
I really love EL so just say something with the hope that EL day by day become popular to all Vietnamese
    Best regards

Good evening everyone, I''''ve jusr finished my dinner after a terrible day. Well, I''''m stuck in 2 things, a late meetings and a big traffic jam...what a Monday. Anyway, I''''m totally feel refrehsed and attracted after reading the answer of nhinanh. Thank you so much for your effort. Actually this question is a big problem for me when i was a student, and till now.
As we see, we had the 2 definitions of 2 types of figurative speech as a tool to answer. There is not any question in club PRO required you to just define the terms until now but you must know the definitions, of course, in order to answer the difference between them.
I''''m very satisfied with your answer, nhinanh, except 1 further asking for discussion. In fact, there are some many confused situations that we can''''t even know if it''''s metaphor or synecdoche.
    For example:
    Give me your hand.
    1. If we consider "hand" as a help, then it''''s metaphor.
    2. If we consider "hand" as a person, then it''''s synecdoche.
In such situations, what will you choose?
I ask everyone and nhinanh just because I want to learn more experience from you, actually it''''s not the way you answered but the knowledge you learnt is important, right?
nhinanh seems to get the vote from me unless we have something particular coming.
Enjoy studying & thanks for everything.

Dear Phuong & Xung, what an honor for me seeing you guys here. I knew both of you in other threads already and I really high-evaluate you two. Thanks much for the contributing ideas.
To Phuong: I''ll try not to use aps, oops, I mean appreviations much because it decreases our dictation right? Anyway, sometimes we don''t want to repeat things that happens so shorten them is kinda logical, too. I remember not using any appreviation except the word DJ when I talk to Huy, up till now because I don''t know the roots of those words
To Xung: I hope to learn more from you with your subjective consultant for club PRO. I''ve just a new member and I''m sure that the baboo tree of scholars in this forum is observing this topic as well so your help would be exceptionally appreciated. I''m so glad we actively used English in this forum without the note English Only. May be that''s what we called PRO, do you think so?
Once again, thanks all for everything. Club PRO is so lucky welcoming new members attending the club after sojouring from many other corners of this immense forum.
Enjoy studying & thanks for reading.

u r more than welcome 2 talk bout this
but it takes dayz to discuss on vn economy in da future , u mean ?
anyway , this is my opinion : vn economy is being on the right track . as scheduled , we''d be considered the market economy in 10 years . there''d be a lot more big changes in 20,30 years . u''ll c our new alleged capital industry icons . anyway , the gap btnw the rich & poor ''d be bigger....and a lot more
What do you think about Viet Nam''''s economy in some past years ?. Plz, show ur thinking, not re-update from newpaper.
Personaly, I have not seen any change enough big since VN joined WTO.

Dear all friends, I hope you had a good morning because it''s pretty late to say so now.
I hope today won''t be as hot as yesterday so that we''ll feel better surfing the net.
Somethng about the question of Vietnam economy yesterday, I think our economy is doing well and i believe that it''ll be better in the future. We just have to be more confident to open ourselves to receive new professional instructions from other countries so that we''ll be able to form our Vietnamese style economy.
And something for Huy, I thought about your question last night, when I couldn''t sleep and I think that''s a whale, right? Am I a good student?About your good intention to form a speaking club, I''m so sorry but I think I can''t because I''m living and working in HCMC and I guess most members here are living in Ha Noi, we''re so distant. But just don''t worry, if there''s a chance I visit Ha Noi, I would say to all of you that I''m gladly to meet and talk with you, diretly. Please forgive me.
OK, I won''t let you guys waiting anymore. The discussion for today related to Maths. As we know, Vietnamese students are among the most intelligent students in Maths of the world. So I hope this question will hotten our club with many many excited ideas, many ways of solving the problem. The question below is pretty long, please read it carefully:
There is a hotel called Chocolate hotel which offers you chocolate pieces in every room depended on the room number. There are 5 members of club PRO get together in Chocolate hotel for a meeting: Huy, Akira, Bella, nhinanh and gaming. Akira is so hurried that he entered room 1 and got only 1 piece of chocolate. Bella entered room 2 and got 5 pieces of chocolate, (just like the firue below). Similarly, gaming got 13 pieces in room 3 and nhinanh got 25 pieces in room 4. Huy is so smart that he quickly entered room 99. When he opened the door he shouted: Oh my God!The question is:
Please tell me how many pieces of chocolate in room 99?
Note: The manager allow customers to take all pieces of chocolate in their rooms.
