Cơ hội giao lưu và học hỏi trong môi trường đa văn hoá và đầy sáng tạo

Chào các bạn,

Chúng tôi đang cần những bạn trẻ yêu thích nghệ thuật, giỏi tiếng Anh, và sẵn sàng ******** nguyện viên để cùng tổ chức "Trại Nghệ thuật Biểu diễn các nước Mê Kông 2006" tại Hà Nội, Việt Nam, 26 tháng 8-16 tháng 9 năm 2006.

Tuỳ vào sở trường và lựa chọn của mình, các bạn có thể tham gia hỗ trợ những mảng sau:

-Hỗ trợ hậu kỳ biểu diễn (production)

- Hỗ trợ hành chính

- Hỗ trợ trong quá trình hội thảo, tập huấn và ban thư ký

-Hỗ trợ dịch Anh-Việt, Việt-Anh cho các nghệ sỹ từ 5 nước trong khu vực, giảng viên, ban thư ký..v.v

-Hướng dẫn tham quan cho các nghệ sỹ quốc tế

Điều kiện tham gia:
-Giỏi giao tiếp bằng tiếng Anh, có thể tự tin nói chuyện, thảo luận, dịch..
- Năng động, nhiệt tình
-Có thời gian (3 tuần)

Bù lại các bạn sẽ được hưởng một khoản phí nhỏ mỗi ngày để hỗ trợ đi lại, hưởng chế độ ăn uống như các nghệ sỹ tham gia. Các bạn sẽ được làm quen với nhiều lĩnh vực nghệ thuật biểu diễn truyền thống và đương đại từ Trung Quốc, Việt Nam, Lào, Thái Lan, Campuchia, Philippines. Các bạn có thể tham dự (quan sát, lắng nghe) khoá tập huấn, giao lưu cùng các đoàn nghệ thuật, học hỏi cách làm việc trong môi trường đa văn hoá và giàu tính sáng tạo.

BACKGROUND

The Greater Mekong Sub-Region remains the epicenter of HIV/AIDS in Asia. It has an estimated 2 million people living with the virus, approximately 32% of which is comprised of adult women infections, excluding the many cases that have been discovered among young women within the region. Despite the virus?T different stages and dynamics of development, significant increases in proportion of infection among women have become a common thread throughout the region. Women are contracting the virus at a faster rate than men. Gender and ***uality constructs contribute significantly to this vulnerability of women to HIV/AIDS. Gender and ***uality constructs contribute significantly to the women?Ts vulnerability to HIV/AIDS. Inequality in gender manifests in culture-specific ***ual norms and behaviors that translate into gender-power dynamics in ***ual relationships. Such complexities require a multi-disciplinary approach. These must be fought in all arenas of battle, including the artistic spaces of the Mekong?Ts creative communities.

Vibrant and diverse, the creative arts communities in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region have spanned centuries of exchange across countries and cultures. This, in effect, gave birth to a great diversity of artistic expressions and performing arts tra***ions, uniquely woven into the very fabric of each culture.

The arts community has always played an important role in epitomizing Mekong societies and serving as catalysts of change. Many have used arts as an alternative to people?Ts education and development in the face of the various threats to human security such as the HIV/AIDS.

Within this milieu, the Philippine Educational Theater Association organizes the 2nd Mekong Performing Arts Laboratory. PETA, through its Mekong Partnership Project, commits itself to providing avenues for the arts communities in the sub-region to gather together, hone skills, share and create new bodies of work while exploring the potency of the arts for advocacy on gender, ***uality and HIV/AIDS.


THE MEKONG PERFORMING ARTS LABORATORY 2006


The Performing Arts Laboratory is an annual activity designed primarily to provide avenues for trainings and exchanges among Asian artists. The Laboratory is part of PETA?Ts cultural extension program to reach out and work with fellow artists to pursue arts and cultural work as a dynamic and evolutionary tool for social change.

Through PETA?Ts Mekong Partnership Project, this year?Ts Laboratory will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam and will bring together performing artists from the Greater Mekong Sub-Region. The Mekong Performing Arts Laboratory 2006 answers to the need for building capacities of individual artists and performing art groups from the sub-region so they could efficiently be mobilized and create impacts in raising awareness and public debates around issues of gender, ***uality and health within their countries.

The Mekong Performing Arts Laboratory 2006 aims to strengthen and enhance the orientational, artistic, and organizational capacities of participants in creating artistic advocacy pieces on gender and ***ual health. It will explore on developing artistic performance pieces that build upon local arts, popular culture, and tra***ional forms that will help facilitate better understanding of the issues.

Specifically, the Mekong Performing Arts Laboratory 2006 aims to:

o Provide participants with basic critical concepts and context on gender, ***uality and health issues in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region

o Provide artistic and pedagogical knowledge and skills in developing advocacy performance pieces around those issues

o Create sketches and performance pieces around these critical concerns that the participants can develop further and perform in their own countries in support of larger group?Ts campaign initiatives

o Help participants identify possible strategies and programs to solicit greater support for sustainability.

COURSES/SUBJECTS

The Mekong Performing Arts Laboratory 2006 will run for three weeks (21 days). Practitioners, PETA artist-teachers and resource persons from other countries will lead the various subjects/courses offered.

? Directing for Stage; Directing for Various Performing Arts Disciplines
? Building Narratives, Storytelling, and Dramaturgy
? Experimental Laboratory Class

The Laboratory culminates with a showcase-recital of works produced during the activity. Outstanding outputs and performances could be supported for public performances and community mobile tours.
