Crocked Owen to miss England World Cup qualifier (EN)

LONDON, Sept 22 (AFP)
Liverpool sharpshooter Michael Owen dealt England's World Cup hopes a blow on Saturday when he limped out of his club's 1-0 Premiership win over Tottenham with a pulled hamstring.
Liverpool coach Gerard Houillier said Owen is set to miss the October 6 World Cup qualifier against Greece which England must win to guarantee automatic qualification for next summer's finals.
Owen, whose brilliant hat-trick sank Germany in Munich earlier this month to put England top of their group, had only been on the pitch for a handful of minutes as a substitute when he pulled a hamstring after stretching to shoot wide.
Houllier told Sky Sports the country's leading scorer could be out for "several weeks".
