Crossing borders đang tìm 2 sinh viên tình nguyện này!

    www.crossingbordersonline.org

Crossing Borders is a student run non-governmental organization operating at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor whose members are committed to bridging the divide between universities and the development world. By coordinating with agencies and professionals, students will participate in a comprehensive level of involvement. In this process, it has become apparent to our members that there is often an unnecessarily long lag time between the research discoveries and innovative ideas produced in academia and their implementation by development initiatives and organizations.

For the summer of 2006, from June 27thâ?"September 1, Crossing Borders is seeking two Vietnamese nationals who are currently enrolled in a Vietnamese University or College to work and live with a team of 7 American university students and our projects in Viet Nam. This is NOT a paid position, however, all of your living and travel expenses will be covered by Crossing Borders.

    Qualifications:
    1) Must speak English fluently
    2) Must be a currently enrolled university or college student in Viet Nam (public health, dentistry, or medicine preferred)
    3) Must be able to live and work with American Students from June 27thâ?"September 1, 2006
    4) Must be able to read and write in English

As a Crossing Borders member, you will be living with American University students for 2 months in Vinh Phuc Province, but you will also be traveling throughout Viet Nam during your time with Crossing Borders. You will be involved in a nutrition study, an oral health intervention program, and medical assessment of health centers throughout Viet Nam. You will gain valuable English language experience, and also learn quantitative research methods. After the September 2nd, you have the possibility to be offered a position as a Crossing Borders employee in Viet Nam, and might get the opportunity to travel to the United States for continued study and or work. It is important to emphasize that you will be living with American students for 2 months, therefore, we are seeking candidates that will be able to interact well. Again, you are not earning a salary, but all of your living, program and travel costs will be provided for. If you have any questions, please email David Duong, Director of Crossing Borders at dduong@crossingbordersonline.org. Interviews will be held in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi at the beginning of June. The application deadline is due on or before May 20th, 2006 via E-MAIL. You will be notified with an interview date before May 24th. Please send completed application to dduong@crossingbordersonline.org
