Tự phát ơi, đầu năm mới, tớ không ăn chơi đâu. Cho tớ thời gian 1 tuần. Đang làm lại một file thống kê toàn bộ slang và idioms mình học được ở 11 page trong Thread này. Ổn lại cho chắc. Sau đó thử viết một dialogue có chứa ít nhất khoảng 10 từ nhỉ? :D

    Chờ nhá!

TP "So, Trang, what is your plan for this weekend?"

MT "Nothing. I would most likely watch some TV."

    TP "Sounds exciting."

MT "Please, I don't plan to indulge myself like you do."

TP "Like going out for a cup of joe ?"

MT "Not even that. I don't like caffein."

TP"Well, I guess a drink is out of question."

    MT "You got that right!"

TP "So, what do you do for kick?"

MT "I don't. I plan to clean up my kitchen this weekend."

TP "Have fun then. I'm going take a fishing pole and a a six-pack and enjoy my weekend. Life is short, play hard."

MT "You do that. I tend my kitchen, and maybe I will me***ate later."

    Hello everyone,

Although I see 3 members dicussed together with (I just only read from 1 - 4 pages) but your dialouges help me a lot for improving my English. I am just Elementary now. Thank you very much, specially for Mr.Phat - own topic.

Some slang words I didn't understand but I am going to try to read again and again for guessing they mean. And I just think that, if I post my translation here, it will have some misunderstanding words/phrases or even different mean, and when Mr.Phat repairs my mistake, it will help me and others who are not good at English can know my mistakes and learn more from this topic. Can I, dear?

Of course, you can. Feel free to join us any time you wish. The more, the merrier.

Guessing is what I do all the time. But then I will use dictionary or internet to seek true meaning of slang word or phrase. That is my way of learning.

Don't be affraid to ask. There is no bad question, just bad answer. [r2)]

Other members and I will try to correct your mistakes, if any. So, go ahead and post.

    TP "How was your weekend?"

MT "It was ok, I guess."

TP "Are you wearing bengay ?"

MT "Yeah, my arms are about to fall off."

TP "From clicking you TV remote control?"

MT "No, silly. From cleaning my kitchen. I did not know cleaning a kitchen requires lot of elbow grease."

TP "Why, I thought you indulge yourself by cleaning your kitchen."

MT "Ha ha. I just can't stand a dirty kitchen. But for some reason, this time my elbows really hurt."

TP "Maybe you have tennis elbow. Check with you doctor. No, I take that back. Maybe you should me***ate and the pain will go away."

MT "I think I will me***ate and maybe YOU will go awaỵ"

TP "And who will cheer you up from your boredom?"

MT "I can cheer myself up, thank you."

TP "In that case, I will go away then. Catch you later."

MT "Not if I catch you first."

For clarity, six-pack here means 6 beer cans in a carton pack (has nothing to do with his tummy)
    -----------------------------Tự động gộp Reply ---------------------------
Good chemistry between the two characters

Tennis elbow is a kind of injury caused by eccesive/forceful or repeatative movement with elbow.
If tphat is a dirty old man like me, I bet he secretly means something else and hope the ladies get it [-X

    You have quite an imagination.

Fortunately, I am not as dirty as you are. So please get your mind out of the gutter. ^:)^
