Discuss about VNese in English !

In this afternoon I bought a book '' Tìm hiểu kỹ xảo hồi văn liên hoàn trong Vũ Trung Sơn Thuỷ của Thiệu Trị'' by Prof Nguyễn Tài Cẩn. It ''s really wonderful.
The information I gave about the poem Vũ Trung Sơn Thuỷ was wrong. The author is Thiệu Trị, not Minh Mạng. And there are 128 different ways to read , not 256.

"Here I want to remind you of another case of using m ...".
Also, the title for the topic should be "Discussing/Discuss Vietnamese (language) in English (language)".
You can only say: "Discuss something (with somebody)" but not "Discuss about something".

And "word" is being misused by Tao_lao since he might pronounce it exactly as "work". "Mai cờ ro sóp guôộc ". But they are different!

Tôi không dám lạm bàn với những nhà ngôn ngữ học nhưng tôi trộm nghỉ trong chữ "làm thinh", thinh là chữ đầu của "thinh không" cho nên"làm thinh" là làm cho im lặng nh7 chốn không gì cả. Trong tiếng Việt có nhiều từ ghép một chữ nôm và một chữ trong một cặp chữ Hán Việt. Nghỉ sao viết vậy không hiểu trúng trật thế nào.

Want to hear my opinion about "hardworking" ? 8-) 8-)
When i was in a little kid back in Vietnam, "hardworking" was something all the adults round me pouring good words, wonderful praise about it . Then my family escaped to US and i ended to highschool here.
Guess what ?
In primary school, starting from the 2nd grade, the best in class is not the one having the best grade, folks ! 8-) 8-) Over here, the best is the one who can get the grade A without "working/study" hard !!! The one who did not spend time but still know what''s going on, not necessarily to score perfect in a test or in an exam .
This is why most of VNese doing quite well in schooling here but not in many doing well in later career or industry, comparing with the local Amarican here, of course.
Why ? Simply because VNese works or studies TOO hard !
In fact, many times when i have to interviews new gradudates from university at work, i asked them: "Are you a kind of working-hard persons ?"
If their answers are "yes", i would rank them at the bottom of my candidate list.
WORKING SMART is preferred than WORKING HARD, my friends !
"Working smart" means you know how to organise your work, think thoroughly and carefully before you start working. Or in schooling, "studying smart" means a student know how to study EFFICIENTLY, not just effectively ! There is a big difference between efficiency and effectivity, of course !
If you know how to work, how to do things, how to learn things, you don''t have to be "hard" on yourseves. You don''t have to spend much time in it. And therefore, you can still have your own life, better socializing skill.
So, my words to you all, if you run to some "low class" or "midle class" foreigners, yes, your "working hard" might show off a bit . But if you guys run to someone who has been around, has been or had been in some managing positions, they migh laugh at you guys for not knowing what is good and what is bad to improve further . (sorry, beat me up 8-) 8-) but hard and sore words hurt you while do you guys better)
In short, i would prefer that VNese are smart & organise, not neccessarily hard !
Got to run for the presidential debate on TV.
