He''s been magnificent since coming back from injuries. Took a few games to get into his stride, but now back to his old form. Really great player with excellent ball control and vision. He hooks up well with ash and titi on the left and forms one of the best left wings in the world. Has a nack for scoring crucial goals as well. What can I say? Only thing IMO wrong with him is that he''s aging and wont be able to play for many more season''s. Hopefully we can find a replacement for him for the future. Maybe groom clichy to take his place? (just a thought).

Now that we all know BoobyPires is completely in love with his hero Robert Pires all I can say is..Who can blame him? Pires has had an outstanding season for Arsenal scoring 19 goals in the process. His link up with Henry is not bettered by many and his assists tally once again shows his unselfishness.

When we bought him, I was worried that Overmars was irreplaceable. His first season didn''t entirely convince me that my fears were wrong. But then ... pow! Bobby exploded all over the 2001-2 season. He was simply magnificent then, and since fully recovering after that unfortunate injury which cost him a chance to make any impression on the World Cup, he''s been magnificent again.
Good players can be replaced - someone else steps in and holds things tight while they''re away. World class players cannot be replaced, and we''re just not the same team when he''s not playing. Slick, stylish, and with probably the oddest run in world football, he - like his buddy Thierry - is changing the way a player in his position is supposed to operate. Not a winger, not a striker, not a central midfielder, but all three at once. He''s in his prime now and Arsenal fans can look forward to at least three more glorious seasons from Le Bob.

when we first got him in 2000/2001, he was wearing a short crop
and then the signature goatee was already there.
His first season would have been unremarkable and everyone would have thought him too lightweight in terms of both impact and ability in comparison to overmars.
Turns out many did. But those who saw his pace, neat passing and that goal against Lazio to draw 1-1 away in a Champions League game would have saw enough to realise that what he needs is time.
Year 2002, the most enduring image of Pires that year that shows his impact on the Arsenal team was the NotWorthy accolade given by his own Arsenal teammates which consisted of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Campbell, Adams and many gifted players.
However, that isn''t the only image he left us. The pass to Bergkamp for the newcastle goal, the numerous through balls for Henry, that magical double lob over both boateng and rednose rudolph would have been burnt, engraved, curved into the mental stone monument of any gooner lucky enough to watch him play.
the run, stop and outpace is a classic move of his.
Simple in execution, but mostly effective.
Unluckily, he suffered a serious injury during that season.

and what form ! 19 goals, he''s been the secondary source of goals next to Henry and any gooner will tell you that despite his reputation for being an excellent attacker, during both 02 and 04, he''s been hardworking at defending too. Granted he not always shut out the rival player but tracking back for defence while having to both organise the attack and be at the receiving end takes effort.
Pires is definitely worthy of being an Arsenal Legend.

1 of the most underated players in the arsenal squad in the meadia and the nuetral''s eyes. He is truely a world class player. His passing, runs that he makes, his technical ability, its was like he was born to play the game and last but no least his almost telephatical link with Henry makes him one of the deadleast weapons in arsenal''s armory.

I?Tve always had a soft spot for Bobby, ever since he joined Arsenal. I remember going to matches in the 2000/01 season and the Arsenal fans were always moaning about his poor form but people didn?Tt really give him a chance to settle down. The first goals I personally saw him score were against Spurs in the League and FA Cup Semi Final ?" and after that he became a hero for scoring against the old enemy!
He has a style all of his own (both on and off the field). He scores crucial goals, and spectacular ones as well, as well as setting up for other players. And Arsenal genuinely do miss him when hê?Ts not playing, I don?Tt think other players have the kind of telepathy with Titi that Bobby does, he always knows where to find Titi with his passes. And hê?Ts just had his best ever goalscoring season ?" all this and hê?Ts 30 years old. I really hope he has a few more seasons in him and ends his career at Arsenal.
I would like to wish Bobby all the best for Euro 2004. I was heartbroken when he had to miss the World Cup 2 years ago, after the fantastic season hê?Td had for us. He hasn?Tt quite reached the same heights at international level as he has with Arsenal and I?Td like to see him do that. Hê?Ts the best!

Pires has been brilliant this season. He''s really changed from how he used to be. He used to win the ball and get assists, now he basically plays as our second striker. 19 goals has been brilliant. A lot of important ones in there like winners against Liverpool, Southampton and Celta Vigo. The way he links up with Henry is unbelievable at times. Started slow but has had a great season. Well done Bobby!

Yeah, one of the very few times I''ve seen Bobby go berserk - his goal celebrations are usually a lot more reserved than that, i.e. the waggy finger salute
I think it was out of sheer relief, he''d been having a stinker of a start to the season up to that point, I think he''d been dropped for the 2 games prior to the Pool match (Man U and Newcastle), so it was definitely good to know he could still pull a fantastic goal out of the hat like that, and he then went from strength to strength as his confidence came back.
And.......his marriage also broke up this season - coinciding with his dip in form at the start. He''s done so well to put all his personal strife aside and played his heart out for Arsenal

I''ve always been a big fan of Robert Pires. He copped a lot of flak when he first came to Arsenal but he did score that brilliant equaliser away to Lazio, and the winning goal against the scum in the FA Cup semi-final, so he didn''t have that bad a first year. In the second season he was magnificent, my favourite player. His lob over Schmeichel was brilliant and it was a crying shame that he got injured and missed the Cup Final and the game at OT. When the players bowed down to him at the presentation it summed up what everyone associated with Arsenal thought of Pires. This season he continued to score important goals against Liverpool, Chelsea (even though we lost the tie), Southampton, Tottenham, Bolton, Celta Vigo. He has done really well to return to top form after such a serious injury. Arsenal can play and win without him but I don''t think they look as convincing when he isn''t playing. And he always scores against the Scum. I hope he is the man at Euro 2004.

Pires Provides Dangerous Option

He is the face that launched a thousand silly beards but Robert Pires makes your hair stand on end with his skill and stealth, a footballer of almost nonchalant brilliance.
Pires, now 30 years old and alive with all the continental charm you would expect of someone born in France of Spanish parentage, looks as if he does not even have to work at his game.
It is as though the sudden burst of pace, the swivel of the hips and the slide-rule pass or shot comes perfectly naturally.
But there has been strain and pain in Piresõ?T sporting life and you would be foolish to believe he has not sweated for all the glory he has achieved.
The Arsenal ace, with the black whisker-line that stretches from bottom lip to chin beneath a floppy pile of unkempt dark hair, has had to force himself through agony and anguish to keep his considerable career on track.
In March 2002, during an FA Cup replay against Newcastle at Highbury, Pires stretched to avoid a scything tackle, landed awkwardly and buckled a cruciate knee ligament.
He had, minutes earlier, scored his 13th goal of a season in which he was to be named Footballer of the Year as the inspiration behind Arsenalõ?Ts second Premiership and FA Cup double triumph in four years.
But he had to collect that accolade a few months later on crutches and, at the time, it was merely a consolation for him missing the run-in to the domestic season and the World Cup finals.
Pires had already won the World Cup with his country in 1998 and shared in the European Championship triumph two years later.
By 2002 he was a better, sharper, more worldly-wise player, perhaps because of the English experience. But the World Cup would have to wait to see him at his best õ?" perhaps forever.
Pires confounded critics, though, by making a magnificent recovery from his injury and now he looks to be the finished article.
He made his comeback for Arsenal in October 2002, feeling his way back with a series of substitute appearances and run-outs in the League Cup.
But he also ended the campaign with 14 goals from 21 Premiership starts and grabbed the winner in the FA Cup final *****rpass even his performance for the previous campaign.
Now there are are few who doubt he will be anything other than a lethal weapon for France when the action hots up in Portugal this summer.
He has now re-established himself in the French national side, playing a vital role in his country collecting the Confederations Cup last year, notching three goals in the tournament and captaining the side in one of the group games.
But that trophy was a small bauble compared to the ones France have already won and plan to win again. Pires will be integral to that ambition.
He can be a silent assassin. Often he will be appear to be a peripheral figure in a game, only *****ddenly spring to life with a match-winning run, pass or shot.
It happens too often to be accidental and it means no defence can afford to turn off for a moment, whether Pires is playing on the wing or in the centre of midfield.
When he first came to England there were doubts about his physical strength and heart for battle. And there are some who will say he still cannot tackle a rice pudding.
The former Reims and and Metz winger, who cost Arsenal Ê7million from Marseille, had to make his Premiership debut in a stormy game at Sunderland where Arsenalõ?Ts Patrick Vieira was sent off, players fought in the tunnel at the end and even Arsene Wenger, the normally mild-mannered Gunners manager, was summoned on an FA charge.
Pires recalls: õ?oI wondered just what I had got into. Everybody seemed to be fighting during the game and I barely had a kick at the ball.
õ?oBut I had to either to learn how to deal with that or perish in the English league. I could either start fighting or step out of it.
õ?oBut I had the chance to come to Real Madrid before Arsenal and so I told myself I had better try to do it.
õ?oNow I just give it all I can. You take some punishment but you have to give some as well. Nearly every challenge is a big hurt but that is the way it is. All you can do is make sure you get free-kicks when you deserve them.
õ?oWhatever happens I love it here now. I signed again for Arsenal a year ago even though I wanted longer on my new contract and I didnõ?Tt get it. It is okay. Iõ?Tm happy with it.õ?

Sau đây là thông tin về Van Persie. Để so sánh một cách dễ hình dung và thú vị, chúng ta cần một người chúng ta đều biết, Bergkamp ở cùng độ tuổi. Van Persie được mọi người cho rằng sẽ kế tục vị trí của Bergkamp ở cấp đội tuyển và cả CLB. Tuy nhiên, cũng cần lưu ý, Van Persie còn trẻ nên những gì bàn luận đều chủ yếu mang tính dự đoán dựa trên tiềm năng của anh.
Thể lực và thể hình:
có cùng chiều cao nhưng Van có thân hình chắc chắn hơn, do đó khoẻ hơn. Bergkamp ở tuổi Van nhanh hơn. Van Persie thuận chân trái trong khi Berg thuận chân phải. sức chịu đựng Berg cũng tốt hơn.
Tài năng:
Khi còn trẻ Bergkamp k được coi là một tài năng lớn, thường xuyên phải chơi ở đội hình 2 của Ajax, tuy anh cũng từng đoạt được giải thưởng cầu thủ trẻ xuất sắc nhất mùa bóng. Chính tinh thần thi đấu và rèn luyện giúp anh được giữ lại trong hệ thống đạo tào cầu thủ trẻ của đội, vì anh gần như k được ra sân.
Khi Cruff cho anh vào đội hình chính, anh đã phát triển rất nhanh và tiếp tục tiến bộ k ngừng, được vào đội tuyển quốc gia.
Ngược lại, Persie là tài năng lớn nhất trong hơn 20 năm của đội hình trẻ Feyenoord (người trước anh là Van Bronckhorst). Anh luôn ở trong đội hình trẻ quốc gia nhờ vào tài năng bẩm sinh của mình. tuy nhiên, anh k tiến bộ nhiều trong những năm gần đây do mối quan hệ k tốt với HLV trưởng một phần vì anh k kỷ luật trong tập luyện và HLV này k giỏi lắm về đào tạo cầu thủ trẻ. Anh vẫn thể hiện những màn trình diễn ấn tượng trong đội hình trẻ quốc gia.
Kỹ thuật:
Chuyền bóng:
Robin có vẻ tốt hơn một chút, khả năng chuyền xa của anh tốt hơn. Như hầu hết cầu thủ thuận chân trái tài năng, chân phải của anh gần như chỉ để đứng, tập thêm chân phải là điều cần làm. Bergkamp chân trái tốt hơn hẳn Van Persie phải.
Rê bóng:
Robin rê rắt bóng rất thiện nghệ, nhưng Bergkamp hiệu quả hơn. Robin cần duy trì tốc độ cao hơn. Cả hai đều có những di chuyển sáng tạo, độc nhất vô nhị. Đặc biệt, Robin có khả năng kết thúc tốt hơn vì anh có thể ghi bàn dễ dàng từ xa. Cái anh cần học là khi nào cần điều gì hơn, dắt bóng hay kết thúc cũng như chơi đơn giản hơn. với thể hình và thể lực mạnh mẽ, khó mà cướp được bóng từ chân anh.
Đá phạt:
thế hệ của Robin có vài chuyên gia đá phạt (Sneijder and v.d.Vaart). Khả năng sút phạt của anh có thể so sánh với Beckhams, vấn đề là anh k chịu luyện tập để hoàn thiện nó trở thành tầm cỡ quốc tế.
Quan sát:
Cả hai đều như có mắt ở sau lưng và thiên phú của một cầu thủ lớn, luôn biết đọc trận đấu và suy nghĩ trước đối thủ một bước. Nhưng Bergkamp kiềm chế mình tốt hơn, chơi đơn giản trong khi Robin đôi khi hơi cá nhân.
Tinh thần:
Sự khác biệt nhất ở đây. Van persie hướng ngoại, Bergkamp hướng nội. Bergkamp tốt nghiệp trung học vào loại suất sắc còn Van Persie rời trường càng sớm càng tốt.
Bergkamp là một thị trấn nhỏ tiêu biểu, một người thực tế và một chàng trai hay e thẹn, gần như là một con sò. Trong khi Robin là con của một nghệ sĩ, lớn lên từ một khu phố đầy bất ổn của một thành phố lớn. Cũng dễ hiểu tính cách của anh giống thuỷ thủ.
Dennis theo đạo còn Robin vô thần. Bergkamp sẽ k bao giờ là thủ lĩnh trên sân, thái độ Robin có chút gì đó giống Gullit, tự tin và kiêu hãnh. Là một tài năng lớn được nhìn nhận từ sớm, Robin được nuông chiều quá mức, nhưng anh cũng là một người hoà đồng, dễ dàng hoà nhập với đội hình trẻ hiện tại.
TÓM LẠI
Van Persie đã rất khôn ngoan khi quyết định đến với Arsenal vì trong một đội hình với quá nhiều cầu thủ tài năng như Arsenal, anh sẽ được thách thức hơn đội hiện tại, nơi về tài năng anh là nhất.
thêm nữa, anh sẽ được huấn luyện bởi một huấn luyện viên tài năng, biết cách dạy dỗ các tài năng trẻ như Wenger cùng với người cầu thủ tài ba mà anh là hiện thân thời còn trẻ Bergkamp.
Rời Hà Lan nơi anh phải đảm trách sứ mạng là thủ lĩnh của cả đội. Anh còn quá trẻ, nhiệm vụ ấy anh chưa thích hợp.
Tuy nhiên để thành công anh phải tiến bộ hơn trong kỷ luật tập luyện và Robin biết điều đó. Anhnghĩ và chơi bóng bằng trái tim mình, chơi cho công chúng k p chơi để kiếm tiền.
Vì thế, nếu chúng ta cho anh thời gian làm quen với bóng đá Anh và giải ngoại hạng và nhớ rằng anh đánh giá rất cao sự ủng hộ của các fan, anh sẽ đền ơn bạn xứng đáng, đáp ứng kỳ vọng.
