International School of Management (ISM) in Dortmund

For over two decades, the International School of Management (ISM) in Dortmund, Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg – a private, state-recognized University of Applied Sciences – has offered high-quality, practical and career-focused management education programs with a strong international orientation.
Founded in 1990 in Dortmund, the ISM is home to round about 1400 students who pursue Business degrees in a personal atmosphere, closely guided by faculty and staff members.


BACHELOR’S PROGRAM
Bachelor students must combine their business studies with English and either French or Spanish, and complete one or two semesters of study abroad in a European or overseas country. Depending on their specialization, they choose an institution from the ISM’s over 130 partner universities. Moreover, required internships of 24 weeks, twelve of which abroad, as well as consultancy projects are integrated in the different Bachelor study programs. Due to the compact structure of all study programs, full-time students graduate in six or seven semesters with a Bachelor’s degree.
As all programs are mainly taught in German, full-time students have to prove their German language skills with their application. For those who like to spend one or two exchange semesters at the ISM and who do not feel comfortable following lessons taught in German, the ISM offers special courses in the Business Certificate program held in English.


MASTER’S PROGRAM
Students who wish to continue their studies with a Master’s Program can choose between five ISM Programs: M.A. International Management, M.A. Strategic Marketing Management, M.Sc. Finance, M.Sc. International Transport & Logistics or M.A. Strategic Tourism Management.
All programs include 12 weeks internships. Students spend the third semester at one of the ISM’s international partner universities. After returning to Germany there is one last project which they have to finish for their Master’s degree: the Master Thesis which takes 12 to 16 weeks. For international students who do not speak German but English, the ISM offers the M.A. International Management. All classes are taught in English. Large parts of the other Master’s programs – up to 70% of the courses – are held in English. However, German language skills are necessary to complete these programs.


MBA PROGRAM
Since 2004, the ISM has offered an MBA program geared towards graduates of all academic disciplines. Students of this part-time MBA program in General Management graduate within 24 months and spend four modules at partner universities in USA, Brussels, India and Hong Kong. A second program, the MBA Energy Management, started at the ISM in 2009. It is organized in cooperation with the energy companies E.ON AG and RWE AG and is therefore tailored to the particular needs of managers in the field of energy.

Postdoctoral and PhD Position in Cell Imaging


We have a postdoctoral/Ph.D. position for 2 (possibly up to 5) years, working in the area of cell culturing and confocal microscopy. The project aims to investigate in vivo applications of semisynthetic conjugates of nucleic acids and proteins and develop methodologies for the transfection of cell cultures with such conjugates. Candidates should have experience in cell culturing, confocal microscopy, molecular cloning and purification of recombinant proteins. Knowledge and a strong interest in bioorganic chemistry is desirable.

In 1999, the Max Planck Society, together with the Association of Universities and other Education Institutions in Germany, launched an initiative called the International Max Planck Research Schools (IMPRS) to promote junior scientists from Germany and abroad. The subsequently founded Research Schools offer structured Ph.D. programs under excellent research con***ions with the aim to prepare scientists for a challenging environment in academia and industry.

All Research Schools run as joint collaborations involving Max Planck Institutes together with German and some foreign universities and research facilities. The International Max Planck Research School in Chemical Biology (IMPRS-CB) is a combined effort of the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology, the TU Dortmund, and the Ruhr-University Bochum.

The strong ties between the MPI of Molecular Physiology and the two educational facilities, especially in the disciplines of chemistry and biology, were the basis for the establishment of the IMPRS in Chemical Biology by the MPG in 2001. The first students were accepted in fall 2001; since then it has grown continuously, admitting approximately 10 students each year.

he objective of the project will be to analyze how intracellular con***ions of signal transduction networks lead to different phenotypic outputs during liver regeneration by using innovative functional microscopic approaches. In the PhD projects cell fate of hepatic stellate cells (HSC) that have characteristics of stem cells will be tracked during differentiation using several optical biomarkers. Project 1 will focus on monitoring the role of Wnt signalling in liver regeneration, project 2 will monitor pro-apoptotic signalling emanating from CD95.Requirements
The successful candidates should be highly motivated, be willing to operate in both basic as well as clinical research, hold a master/diploma in biology or a related field and be willing to work with mice and rats. Experience in animal handling, cell culture and molecular biology basic techniques are desirable but not essential.

Postdoctoral position in Cell Physiologyat the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology, Dortmund, Germany
A postdoctoral position limited until 31.12.2012 is immediately available in the group of Professor Dr. Frank Wehner, Department of Systemic Cell Biology (Prof. Dr. Philippe Bastiaens) at the MPI in Dortmund.

Our laboratory is studying the mechanisms of cell volume regulation and its role in proliferation vs. apoptosis. Special emphasis is given to channel mediated ion transport. The methods used include advanced fluorescence microscopy, scanning acoustic microscopy and electrophysiology, as well as biochemistry and molecular biology.
The goal of the project is to reversibly arrest cells by optimizing cryo-con***ions with the physiology of a system as a quality read-out. To this end, novel approaches will be developed for the real-time monitoring of the physiological properties of the cytoplasm under different thermodynamic con***ions.
The successful candidate should hold a PhD in biophysics, biochemistry or physiology. Applicants should have a strong background in at least one of the following fields: 1) electrophysiology (patch clamp), 2) live cell imaging, 3) cryo-biology of mammalian cells.

Ngoại ngữ giấc mơ trên giường or thiên đường

Lạm bàn việc học ngoại ngữ hay gọi là kinh nghiệm xương máu của bản thân​

Như bao lần ghi chú khác: Bài viết này em cũng chỉ dành riêng cho các bác có đồng cảnh ngộ với em là: năng khiếu không có, nhưng chịu khó khỏi bàn , ********** chén hết. Bài viết không dành cho các bác con nhà giàu, đẹp trai, xinh gái, thông minh, học giỏi - không Grantie cho bất kỳ ai, đọc và ứng dụng.

Em thì không có năng khiếu ngoại ngữ, và đây là một trong những môn học củ chuối và đáng sợ nhất của em. Thông thường người ta thi 1 lần là qua, em phải thi tới 10 lần còn chưa biết qua hay ko. Thế nên kinh nghiệm của em chả có gì cao sang. Những cái như mẹo, phân tích, chọn từ, tìm ý chính, ý phụ em xin nhường phần cho các bậc cao niên, đắc đạo chỉ giáo

Em chỉ xin kể về cách học tiếng củ chuối của em, vì nó làm em rất mệt mỏi, hao tổn bao nhiêu vật chất và tinh thần mà mới chỉ đạt tới tầm: hallo, cô đưa mông tôi xoa …oa oa .. to quá…muahhha….

Với kinh nghiệm đốt phần lớn tiền chi phí dự trù học ở Đức vào học tiếng …và học 3, lần A, 4 lần B cũng như đã từng bỏ tiền ra mua bằng tiếng Anh để đi làm, nhưng rồi mèo vẫn hoàn mèo, chữ thầy trả cô em nhận thấy:

Cản trở đầu tiên đối với những thằng mới học ngoại ngữ dốt như em là cứ hay thắc mắc. Hồi em ở nhà quê lên phố, em ghét bọn ở phố lắm, vì bọn nó học tiếng anh từ lớp 6, ấy là nói lúc đó từ những năm 1 ngàn 9 trăm hồi ấy. Còn em lúc vào học chung với bọn nó là lớp 9 rồi. Bọn nó xì xô allo, mô tô… em bực cả mình, vì chả hiểu gì. Em cũng không hiểu sao : tiếng viết hoa hồng đỏ mà cô giáo cứ viết đỏ hoa hồng, đảo lộn lung tung như kiểu nói lái nhà quê bọn em là : dẩm thu, tủ râm í. Bực lăm cơ.

Thế nên nguyên tắc 1 đối với em là: Học ngoại ngữ không được thắc mắc, mà nên bắt chước. (Coi như , nếu thầy cô có sai, cũng không sai nhiều, khi nào học lên tới trình của thầy cô rồi thụ giáo các sư phụ cao hơn sửa sai, nhưng trước hết học hết cái của thầy cô đã)

Lại còn nữa, em cầm quyển từ điển 80.000 từ tiếng Anh mà bố em mua cho em rồi tự hỏi: Bố khỉ làm sao mà mình học thuộc được ngần này từ. Mà không học thuộc được sao hiểu được, từ đó em đâm không có hứng để học.

Thế nên nguyên tắc 2 đối với em là : Học ngoại ngữ không được sợ, không ngượng, không ngại. Sức có bao nhiêu, cứ học bấy nhiêu, học không hết thì cũng không chết, nhưng đến một lúc nào đó lại nhận ra rằng: dù mình không nặng cân, nhưng đi mãi một con đường nó cũng mòn. Dù mình chả có năng khiếu nhớ từ, nhưng cứ viết, cứ đọc mỗi ngày cái mặt chữ đó ..thì có ngày cũng thuộc, kiểu mưa dầm thấm lâu, hay nói trong ngôn ngữ tình yêu thì là: Nhất ngồi lì, nhì chai mặt.

Có được cái mặt chữ, em nhớ hồi em học tiếng Anh, em cứ viết, viết cho kiệt tay. Từ quyển A, quyển B, quyển C của giáo trình Sờ Trim Trai ..em đặt mục tiêu phải thuộc hoàn toàn. Nhưng sau đó mang ra lắp vào não bộ để đọc báo chí thì rút ra một kết luận phũ phàng là: Đek hiểu giề. Vậy chả khác gì là đại gia mà không cưa được gái chân rài. Nhục ơi là nhục. Sau đó em rút ra dược

Nguyên tắc 3 là: Học ngoại ngữ phải lấy ngữ pháp làm xương sống. Sau đó đắp da, đắp thịt vào rồi thổi phù phù vài cái như ngày xưa chú Cuội dùng lá đa cải tử hoàn sinh cho vợ í . Ảnh người mẫu chỉ đẹp, khi có bàn tay photoshop làm hàng mà lị. Ở đây photoshop chính là ngữ pháp, còn từ mà chúng ta có là những bức ảnh.

Vậy là với nguyên tắc 1 : không thắc mắc + Nguyên tắc 2: Không được sợ + Nguyên tắc 3 : nắm chắc ngữ pháp. Thi đại khái là dù không xây được nhà lầu, biệt thự villa .., nhưng cố gắng cũng kiếm được mảnh đất cắm dùi mà đựng được túp lều tranh trên môi trường ngoại ngữ.

Em ví dụ : lên máy bay, mất tiền mua vé, tính em lại nhà quê nên ních cho chật bụng.., khổ chật bụng rồi thì nó phải ra cái cần ra, các bác sẽ phải tìm WC phỏng ạ. Cơ mà đi trên máy bay của Tây mình phải nói tiếng Tây, các bác trình cao chắc phải : Could you tell me , where is the WC , please phỏng ạ. Nhưng chậc, em trình kém thì cứ phang: i have already eaten too much rice that must be out of my belly immediately now. Where can i do it, please … i have no more time to keep it, chắc cũng ổn. Còn hơn vì sự không hiểu nhau mà nảy sinh sự cố làm hành khách hoảng loạn phải không ạ ? Vậy là giỏi thì đi đường ngắn, dốt thì đi dường vòng .. còn hơn không đến được đích là cái WC, phỏng ạ ?

Còn như đã nói các kỹ năng, kỹ xảo hình ảnh cao hơn: thuộc về lĩnh vực nghe nói, đọc, viết, làm bài tập, mẫu đề… vân vân và vân vân… thì em không dám bàn, mà chờ đời các sự phụ xuống núi. Em xin nói tiếp về bổ đề cho 3 nguyên tắc trên.

Nói là bổ đề, chứ em cũng xin nói trước là nó chả có gì to tát như bổ đề cơ bản của giáo sư Ngô Bảo Châu. Nói thế cho rõ, kẻo không các bác quảng gạch đá, xi măng vào vỡ mặt em thì kể cũng tội, vi em mới chỉ có con chưa vợ.

Nói đại khái, với ba nguyên tắc trên là dành cho em, một trong những người ngoại đạo về ngoại ngữ. Coi ngoại ngữ là hoa hậu, cũng muốn sờ, muốn vuốt ..nhưng mà đời phải biết mình là ai. Thế nên để trên con đường thực hiện hóa giấc mơ thiên đường thì:

Về cơ bản: Ngoại ngữ nó như một con đường, em đi mãi thì nó mòn, nó gấu 1 thì em gấu 10. Học 1 năm chưa được thì em học 10 năm, còn 10 năm chưa xong thì em học 100 năm ... và xuống âm phủ em cũng bảo người thân đốt gửi cho em tài liệu em học tiếp. Từ bài khóa không thuộc thì viết luôn cho thuộc cả bài khóa...

Thế nên với tư duy củ chuối của em thì kinh nghiệm học là :
Đã ngu ... thì cần ...phải tu.
Đã xấu ..thì phải gấu...

Nhưng cơ mà phấn đấu mãi mà đếu xong ... thì bỏ của chạy lấy người cho rồi :

Cơ mà tới một lúc nào đó, khi mình đủ ngữ pháp, vốn từ, và có thể đọc hiểu một tài liệu bằng tiếng nước ngoài …thì sướng lắm các bác ạ. Chính cái cảm giác này nó thôi thúc, khiến mình thích đọc, thích tìm hiều ..và dần dần chả hiểu lúc nào..mình qua cửa thiên đường không hay.

Kết luận

Học ngoại ngữ cần phải NGU ngoại ngữ ,chứ giỏi rồi cần gì phải học cac bác nhỉ. Nói như các cụ MA trên truyền hình là chúng ta cứ phải :

Tóm lại về cơ bản

Không thắc mắc, cứ bắt chước: đỡ nghĩ nhiều, đau đầu, tiếp thu cái của thầy cô nói đủ đã là đạt mức yêu cầu rồi
Không sợ, không ngượng, không ngại: thoải mái, dễ nghe, tây Ta, chém hết, đúng sai chưa bàn .. nhưng tinh thần chiến đấu cao, làm tiền đề tốt để tiến lên hội thoại
Nắm chắc ngữ pháp: Làm mọi cái xong ...lại về cơ bản là ...phải biết mình đúng hay sai chứ...... chứ ko học làm giề

Nhớ hồi tiểu học trong sách tập đọc có những câu:

Làm gì có giấy gọi học ĐH nhỉ
