The line graph illustrates the amount of foreign visitors came to Australia from 1975 to 2005.
As can be clearly seen from the graph, the number of visits to Australia by overseas residents has increased steadily during the period 1975 to 2005, from 8.8 up to 30.4 million visitors. Between 1985 and 1995 is the stage in which the increase of tourism numbers has been marginally better than the remaining two phases (from 1975 to 185 and from 1995 to 2005).
Besides, the largest is visitors came from Northeast Asia, has soared from 6.4 million in 1975 to 21.9 million in 2005; among them Japanese visitors have accounted for the biggest number: 3.2 million in 1975 and 12 million in 2005. Meanwhile the remainder came from USA, Britain and Europe has just slight increased from 2.4 million in 1975 to 8.5 million in 2005.
It is evident that the graph highlights the continuous increase of tourists have arrived to Australia over the period from 1975 to 2005, in which the Northeast Asian tourists made up nearly 70%.
