Budget planning with a spreadsheet (Wednesday)
Have you ever used a spreadsheet program? Do you use one to plan your own budget?
People who work with financial information like bankers, accountants business managers and even householders use spreadsheets to add and subtract money earned and spent. Spreadsheets can keep a running total of money that can be changed as needed when income or expenses are added or subtracted.
Unlike using a calculator, a computer spreadsheet can be saved, printed and corrected if a number is incorrect. The spreadsheet can be filed in a folder on the computer so you can have a history of income and expenses for your home or business. Throw away your pencil and paper! Let a spreadsheet do the math for you!

Budget planning with a spreadsheet (Tuesday)
If your friend told you, "I have more expenses than income," do you think this would be a problem? How would you reply to this friend?
"Expenses" are what people "spend" money on. You can probably think of many daily, monthly and yearly expenses.
"Income" is what people "earn." It is the money that "comes in." Income results from your work, your business or your "property" (land or buildings).
Think about these questions: What is your main source of income? Is it from work, business or property? What are your main or highest expenses?
