Grey hair
How do people feel about getting white or grey hair in your country? Is it considered something to cover up or to show proudly?
The color grey is also spelled gray in English. Both words mean the same thing and are pronounced the same way. The word rhymes with the words say, day and play. "Ey", which has the "ay" sound, can be found in words like they and whey.
What do people think about grey hair in your country? Is it positive or negative? Why?

Dreams
The word "dream" has more than one meaning. You can dream at night, but you can also have dreams for the future. What do you want to do in the future? Do you want a lot of money? Do you want a family? Do you want happiness?

GRAMMAR EXERCISE
To talk about the future, use the simple future. Use the modal verb "will" with the base form of the main verb.

Planting a Garden
READING
Jenna is going to plant a garden. First, she prepares the soil with a rake and removes the rocks and weeds. Next, she plants her tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers in rows. Finally, around the edge of the garden she plants orange and yellow marigolds. The scent of the marigolds keeps the rabbits away!

Planting a Garden
GRAMMAR
Subject pronouns replace nouns that are the subject of a sentence. They include: I, you, he, she, we, they, and it. Subject pronouns make the noun more generic when you don''t want to repeat the name of the subject in later sentences. Compare the following pair of sentences:
Jenna is going to plant a garden.
She starts by preparing the soil.
The noun "Jenna" is replaced with the subject pronoun "She" in the second sentence because we already know who the sentence is about. Read the following sentences and substitute a subject pronoun for each subject.
1. My parents are visiting my brother.
2. The bird is eating from RitaĂ¯s hand.
3. Ralph is late for his date.
4. Maria loves ice cream.
