The conquest of Vietnam by France began in 1858 and was completed by 1884. It became part of French Indochina in 1887. Independence was declared after World War II, but the French continued to rule until 1954 when they were defeated by Communist forces under Ho Chi MINH, who took control of the North. US economic and military aid to South Vietnam grew through the 1960s in an attempt to bolster the government, but US armed forces were withdrawn following a cease-fire agreement in 1973. Two years later, North Vietnamese forces overran the South. Despite the return of peace, for over two decades the country experienced little economic growth because of conservative leadership policies. Since 2001, Vietnamese authorities have committed to economic liberalization and enacted structural reforms needed to modernize the economy and to produce more competitive, export-driven industries. The country continues to experience protests from the Montagnard ethnic minority population of the Central Highlands over loss of land to Vietnamese settlers and religious persecution.

You have a very interesting report! But after that, you had been writen so much Vietnamese.
I have a advise, if you do not refuse: Better for you when you post English report here, you should write all words by English. Because when you read, then write, you will remember so much new words!
If you have any trouble when translate to English, you can join this website to find any words:
    http://vietdic.portal.vinacomm.com.vn/default.aspx
I hope you can relax more and learn more about English!
    To all: Say anything?

    Hi hanh114212,
I have to say that i really admire your effort in getting HD Members involved in this thread.
I am a newbie here so be nice heheh.
From my experience, below are few ways that can help you in studying English.
    1. Listening to radio, music
    2. Write your own diary. Write anything that you can think of like you said, the more you write the more you learn. I find that this is the most useful way to improve your written skills & vocabulary.
    3. Speak out loud, dont be embarassed!
    4. Read articles, newspapers in English.
    5. Form a small English club, where all the members can just talk in English.
    Hope that helps!
    Cheers

Rapid growth in global air travel and damaging emissions.
Falling ticket prices and rising incomes are leading to rapid growth in global air travel. According to the British government, the number of British air passengers, for example, will more than double in the next quarter of a century. Increases of such an order would mean much more aviation fuel being burned and aviation fuel may be more harmful to the environment than other fuels because the resulting smoke is emitted at high altitudes.
A group of scientists at the environmental research group, the Tyndall Centre, says that if Britain is to meet its overall target for cutting damaging emissions, other uses of fuel like for heating homes or driving cars would have to be cut dramatically.
The British government wants the use of aviation fuel covered by international agreement on the environment. The difficulty for any individual government is that taxing fuel used at its own airports might push airlines to move their operations to competing airports in other countries.

    Hello Hanh:
Writing is an essential skill for English learners. In order to write well, reading is adviced.
Here are some writing articles in the TOEFL TWE (Test of Written English) 185 topics. (In pdf file, cannot copy and paste separate topics to this thread)
    Mail box: toeflsaigon@yahoo.com

You can start reading them throughoutly and begin writing some. Copy sentence structures, reuse new words, and imitate idea arrangements,... may help.
    Hope you improve soon,
