@Vân, Nam Hà: hai bạn chuẩn bị kỹ về WTO và làm MC buổi tối nay được không (hai bạn trao đổi với nhau, mỗi người sẽ phụ trách 1 mảng về WTO được không) ? Mình mù tịt về WTO Bi h lại đang bận nên không có thời gian đọc.
Đây sẽ là 1 chủ đề khó nên buổi tối nay sẽ dành ít thời gian để thảo luận, mà chủ yếu nghe MC sau bài nghe điền từ.
@Hạnh: Mình chưa nhận được hồi âm gì của bạn. Câu hỏi đã post lên rồi. Bạn post bài đọc lên cho mọi người được không và bổ xung các câu hỏi bạn đã chuẩn bị được.

Danh sách sẽ chốt vào lúc 5p.m chiều nay.
Mọi người có thể đăng kí trực tiếp trên forum hoặc send message qua cell phone hoặc YH cho mình để mình nắm được số lượng photo bài vở.

Other, I am an IT engineer, so I dont know about WTO or something related WTO, APEC.. I only read some websites and made questions.

@Nam Hà, Hạnh: Xin lỗi vì làm mất công các bạn. Chác chủ đề WTO phải chuyển sang lân khác thôi. Không thấy ai giơ tay làm MC cho buổi này cả.

Reading topic: Vietnam?Ts WTO accession ?" opportunities and challenges
Vietnam has just completed its negotiations on accession to the World Trade Organisation. After joining the global trade club, the country will not only have new opportunities but also face many challenges. The crux of the matter is that Vietnam will have to overcome these challenges to grasp new opportunities as early as possible.
According to Deputy Minister of Trade Luong Van Tu, who led the Vietnamese WTO negotiation delegation, the following are major challenges Vietnam will face after joining the WTO:
First, to integrate into the global market, Vietnam will have to open up its market for commo***ies from other countries.
Second, Vietnam has approximately 230,000 enterprises but most of them are small- and medium-sized and have low competitive capacity. Some enterprises are well adapted to changes in the business environment, but limited in capital, technology and management capacity. As a result, their competitive capacity remains low.
Of course, things are not the same to all sectors. Vietnam never thought that it was capable of developing the shipbuilding industry well. In recent times, the market share of the shipbuilding industry has shifted from Europe to Japan, the Republic of Korea and China, and Vietnam has emerged as an attractive destination for global maritime transport companies thanks to its advantages such as an abundant labour force and many deepwater seaports and closed bays.
The garment sector is another case in point. Due to high payment for workers in other ASEAN countries, many garment makers have shifted their factories to Vietnam.
Thailand and Malaysia are seriously short of workers. Every year, Malaysia recruits three million workers while Singapore employs 500,000 foreign workers. Therefore, many countries are turning to Vietnam to take advantage of its abundant labour force.
In Vietnam, Singapore has two industrial parks and Vietnamese enterprises have to operate in areas of less competitive edge.
Third, many economic and trade policies will be renewed. For example, quotas and State subsidies will be abolished. This will create a good chance for Vietnamese enterprises, but also pose a great challenge for those which rely on State subsidies.
Vietnam?Ts commitment to reducing import tariffs will certainly affect State budget revenue. Previously, import tariffs sometimes made up 30 percent of national GDP and the figure now stands at 15 percent. It is expected that Vietnam?Ts WTO membership will help boost trade exchanges.
Regarding social welfare policy, several small- and medium-sized enterprises of low competitive capacity will have to overcome numerous difficulties to stand firm on the domestic market. Some are sure to go bankrupt. Consequently, the State will have to deal with the number of redundant workers from these enterprises by providing them with social welfare allowances, re-training and providing new jobs for them.
Human resource development is considered a decisive factor in tough competitions against foreign enterprises after the country opens up its market. Competitions for human resources will take place especially when foreign enterprises offer high salaries for skilled workers. Therefore, it is imperative to draw up training strategies aimed at maintaining good staff. But how to keep skilled workers depends on each enterprise without any common rule for them to follow.
There are different ways to encourage qualified people to work, such as providing certain shares, offering high salaries and treating them well. Despite having an abundant workforce, Vietnamese workers expose some limitations such as poor command of foreign languages and old working styles. Against this backdrop, the State needs to devise an appropriate policy to provide training or re-training for workers.
Craft associations play a pivotal role in promoting joint ventures with the aim of building domestic distribution networks. Domestic enterprises should unite with each other and with foreign ones to create an integrated strength for mutual development.
The Vietnamese market is providing numerous favourable con***ions for enterprises to develop. Many excellent Vietnamese students in the US are now ready to return to their home country despite being persuaded to stay and work for US companies as they think that there are less business opportunities in the US than in Vietnam. The US has a high development level. So, you will find it difficulty *****rvive there, if you do not have enough capital and good contact with other business partners.
The most important thing for enterprises is how to overcome challenges. Nokia - the world?Ts leading mobile phone supplier regards challenges as opportunities. Only after overcoming challenges, can it become number 1.
After joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Vietnam will not only have new opportunities but also face many challenges. Whether or not to grasp new opportunities relies on polices and enterprises?T efforts. Joining the WTO is a good opportunity for further development but it does not mean we are becoming either richer or poorer. If we make the best of the situation, we will get richer. Once challenges are overcome, new opportunities will arise and that?Ts a fact.
However, to bring the national economy to a higher development level, ministries, sectors and enterprises should coordinate closely to grasp new opportunities as early as possible

Tình hình là mình thấy WTO ai cũng cần biết nhưng không phải ai cũng trong ngành nên chúng ta cứ bàn luận một cách dễ chịu , cố gắng không lý thuyết quá, sẽ ổn thôi mà.
