English for Academic purpose. Need help?

I have to do my assignment, The topic is "Compare the use of deictic expressions in different texts. Discuss the role of the context and deictic centres in determining the reference of these expressions.
A comparison could also be made between languages (English & Vietnamese), say by looking at the use of equivalent expressions."

Now I have no idea in my mind while the deadline to hand-in í coming. Could you give some suggestions, or some references?
