    Nowadays every country in the world buys from other countries and sells to them. In a way this trade between countries is like the barter of long ago. If one country has more things than it can use, it may exchange them with another country for what it needs.

    The things a country sells to another country are called exports. The things a country buys from another country are called imports. Payment for imports and exports is made through a system called foreign exchange in which the value of the money of one country in relation to the money of other countries is agreed upon.

    The difference in value between currencies is called rates of exchange. These vary from time to time.

    In transactions in international trade, actual money does not usually change hands. A letter of cre*** may take the place of money. It is a letter from a bank asking that the holder of the letter be allowed to withdraw specified sums of money from other bank to agencies, to be charged to the account of the writer of the letter.

    Today international trade is becoming more and more important. It is hard to imagine how the complex business affairs of the trade among nations could be carried out without the many services that a bank provides.

    Ministri of Industry & Commerce(MOIC)-Kingdom of Bahrain
    Geography and history have played a prominent role in shaping the Kingdom of Bahrain''''s position as a major commercial centre. Its location in the heart of the Arabian Gulf gives it strategic access to both the European and Asian markets, providing entrepreneurs with the ideal springboard for meeting a wider customer base. Historically, too, Bahrain''''s location made it an important trading centre that attracted merchants in ancient times and, even today, continues to attract top-notch investors willing to capitalize on Bahrain''''s burgeoning investment potential.
    Running a small business
    Starting a small business is easy but running one well is not. As soon as the work starts coming in it seems it''''s the business owner that''''s doing all the running - running to keep up with invoicing, paying bills, keeping records and buying supplies. That''''s before any of the projects they have in mind are even considered. It''''s a wonder the paid work ever gets done.

    This course strips down the operation of a small business to its essentials:

    Producing quality products and services;
    Pricing your products and services fairly and profitably;
    Following an operating and organizational plan *****ccess; and
    Treating employees and subcontractors well.
    Your first priority is to do your paid work because, without that, nothing else matters. What you''''ll learn in this course is how to set your prices so that they cover your costs and the cost of the time you spend while at the same time allowing you to make sure you give your customers the quality they wanted when they bought from you.

    Once you have that time blocked off, you need to develop a plan for your business. This course shows you how to make plans for projects and for your organization so that you can schedule time to develop your business, break down the work into small steps and keep track of your progress.

    Part of this process is to keep simple records of what goes on in your business and the direction in which you want to go.

    Finally, after covering your customers and your internal matters, this course will show you how to treat suppliers, subcontractors and employees as partners, letting them share in the success of your ventures.

    We''''ll first explore how to keep your business structure simple by running your business without employees, using sub-contactors and suppliers. But, depending on the business you have chosen, you may find that you need to hire help and this course gives you tips on hiring, keeping and motivating key employees.

    After taking the course, you can use the message board at the Suite101 Business and Economics Community to continue to get the support you need from the course developer and from other course participants.

    Once you get your business organized and running smoothly, you will have time to focus on your customers and to start moving the business towards your targets. This course will help you take control of your small business and give you the levers to take it where you want it to go. You started your small business because you had some goals in mind - if you don''''t seem to be getting there, it''''s time to take control and get going

    Keep going on. It''s interesting to read a short article sometimes and to read different contexts of areas.
    Is the paragraph extracted from some book???
    What would you say next time?
    P.S. (Ministry instead of Ministri, right???)
