i have just read 11 pages of this topic. Allthough i only understand a pice of them. But i think here iz very useful for me and every one who like learning E. There are 4 skills when you learn a languge: reading, writing, listenning and speaking. In my opinion, speaking skill iz the most important skill when you learn a languge. Which one of these is the " Odd- Man - Out". Which one of these different from of them? The answer iz speaking. the other three you can do alone,on your own withuot any one else. You can read a book alone, you can listen to the music alone, you can write a letter alone. But you can not speaking alone, speaking to your sefl can be dangerous because men in white coats may be come and take you away.
That why you make every effort possible to find somebody to speak with. Where can you find somebody who can speak with you? And how can you practice speaking when you are alone?
    At school:
If you go to a languge school, you should use the opportunity to speak to your teacher and your others. When you go home, you can practice listening, reading and wtiting, but you can not probably practice speaking. If your teacher ask you a question, take the opptornity to answer it. Try to say as much as possible. Don''''t worri about your mistakes. Just speak.
    Conversation clubs:
Many cities around the world have conversation clubs where people can exchance one languge for another. Look in your local newpaper to find conversation clubs nere you. Some time you can be relax like
    Shopping:
If you are living in speaking - English country, You have a wonderful opportunity. Practice speaking with local peron such as assistants, taxi driver, ect...Even if you don''''t buy any things, you can question about products that you like in a shop. "How much does it cost?" '''';Can i pay by cheque? ect..
    Languge is all round you:
every where you go you can find languge, shop names, streets names, noitice on bus and train, ect...Even if you are not in English- speaking country, there are often alots of English words you can see when walking in the street, expecally in the big cities. And there are always number, car number, telephone number, house number, ect...How can this help you? When you walk down the street, practise reading the words and numbers that you see. Say them to yourself. It''''s not exactly a conversation, but it will help you to "think" in English. For example, if you walk along aline of parked cars, say the number on each car quickly as you pass it. Test yourself, to see how fast you can walk and still say each number. But don''''t speak too loud!
    Songs and Video
Listen to the words of an English-language song that you like. Then repeat them to yourself and try to sing with the music. Repeat the words as many times as possible until they become automatic. Soon you''''ll be singing the whole song. Or listen to one of your favourite actors on video and repeat one or two sentences that you like. Do it until it becomes automatic. It''''s good practice for your memory and for the mouth muscles that you need for English.
Above all, don''''t be afraid to speak. You must try to speak, even if you make mistakes. You cannot learn without mistakes. There is a saying: "The person who never made a mistake never made anything." So think of your mistakes as something positive and useful.
Speak as much as possible! Make as many mistakes as possible! When you know that you have made a mistake, you know that you have made Progress!

As you said, speaking is the most important in learning English. I agree with you that we cant practise this skill alone. If you are in HN now, what do you think about KBC''s English club where we can share everything we know in English?

I agree with u that speaking is very important skill. But, I think we also can practise speaking English alone by using headphone and mic.

*****tubienbong: it''s very wonderful to creat KBC''s English club. I agree fully with you. Poor me, now i am not in HN, but there are many KBC''member who are very good at English here. you can contact and tell about creatting KBD'' English club. I believe in everybody ( guys and girl)will be very happy and agree with your ideal. anyway, My English iz very bad and poor. I have not been learning English so long, about 4 years when i left the secondary school in 2002.
To Meomeo84: Like I said " speaking alone iz very dangerous". Thank God! Nowaday we have Internet. With your computer wich conects Internet and Headphone, microphone you can practice speaking with everybody who use E is the 1st or 2rd languges all around the world.

= Oh My God! Oh My God!
    [/quote]
"Thiện tai ! Thiện tai !" is "Oh My God! Oh My God!".
It''s strange. Buddha sock. Having to say: "Self-make karma ! Self-make karma !"
Bực cái mình, tra từ điển mệt quá, nói tiếng Việt cho nó nhanh. Các thầy chùa niệm "Thiện tai ! Thiện tai !" là để nhắc nhở mình nhắc nhở người đừng có làm việc xấu trái với lương tâm để chuốc lấy nghiệt chướng vào người. Hết.
Người ra đi đầu không ngoảnh lại
Sau lưng English rụng rơi đầy.

Right now you are reading English. That means you are using your brain in a vey active way. Reading í very active process. Itz true that the writer does alot of work, but reader also has to work hard. When you read a text, you have to do some of all of these
    - Imagine a scene in your head
    - Undersand clearly what the writer iz trying to say
    - Agree or disagree with the writer
    Advantage of:
When you learn a languge. listening, speaking and writing are importan, but reading can be also be very helpful. There are many advages associated with reading, including.
    -Learning Vocabulary In Context
You will usually encounter new words when you read. If there are too many new words for you, then the level is too high and you should read something simpler. But if there are, say, a maximum of five new words per page, you will learn this vocabulary easily. You may not even need to use a dictionary because you can guess the meaning from the rest of the text (from the context). Not only do you learn new words, but you see them being used naturally.
    A Model For Writing
When you read, it gives you a good example for writing. Texts that you read show you structures and expressions that you can use when you write.
    Seeing "Correctly Structured" English
When people write, they usually use "correct" English with a proper grammatical structure. This is not always true when people speak. So, by reading you see and learn grammatical English naturally.
    Working At Your Own Speed
You can read as fast or as slowly as you like. You can read ten pages in 30 minutes, or take one hour to explore just one page. It doesn''t matter. The choice is yours. You cannot easily do this when speaking or listening. This is one of the big advantages of reading because different people work at different speeds.
    Personal Interest
If you choose something to read that you like, it can actually be interesting and enjoyable. For example, if you like to read about football in your own language, why not read about football in English? You will get information about football and improve your English at the same time.
    Things to Rea
You can find English-language newspapers in all large cities around the world. Newspapers are interesting because they are about real life and the news. BUT they are not easy to read. Try reading newspapers if your level is intermediate or above.
    Some British newspapers:
    The Telegraph
    The Times
    The Independent
    The Guardian
    The Financial Times (business)
    The Sunday Times
    Some American newspapers:
    The International Herald Tribune
    The New York Times
    The Wall Street Journal (business)
    Magazines
Some magazines are published weekly, some monthly. You can find English-language magazines in many large cities around the world. If you cannot find the magazine you want in your town, you may be able to order it for delivery. Many magazines have pictures which can help your understanding. You will need an intermediate level for most magazines, but a pre-intermediate level may be ok for some magazines.
There are magazines on every subject:
    Politics
    Sport
    The House
    Cars
    Music
    Romance
    Travel
    Language
    etc
    Books
    Books are divided mainly into:
Non-fiction (history, biography, travel, cooking etc)
    Fiction (stories and novels)
Some books are easier to read than others. It often depends on the author. Agatha Christie, for example, wrote in an easier style and with simpler vocabulary than Stephen King. You can buy books in specialised English-language bookshops in large cities around the world. You may also be able to find some English-language books in libraries. And if you have a British Council in your city, you can borrow many English-language books from their library.
    Short Stories
Short stories can be a good choice when learning a language because they are...short. It''s like reading a whole book in a few pages. You have all the excitement of a story in a book, but you only have to read 5,000 or 10,000 words. So you can quite quickly finish the story and feel that you have achieved something. Short stories are published in magazines, in books of short stories, and on the Internet. You can also find short stories at EnglishClub.com English Reading.
    Readers
Readers are books that are specially published to be easy to read. They are short and with simple vocabulary. They are usually available at different levels, so you should be able to find the right level for you. Many readers are stories by famous authors in simple form. This is an excellent way for you to start practising reading.
    Cornflakes Packets
By "Cornflakes Packets", we mean any product you can buy that has English writing on or with it. If you buy a box of chocolates, or a new camera, why not read the description or instructions in English? There are many such examples, and they all give you an opportunity to read real English:
    airline tickets
    cans or packets of food
    bottles of drink
    tapes and CDs
    user guides for videos, computers...
    etc
    Poetry
If you like poetry, try reading some English-language poems. They may not be easy to understand because of the style and vocabulary, but if you work at it you can usually get an idea - or a feeling - of what the poet is trying to say. You''ll find some classic poems, with explanations of vocabulary, at EnglishClub.com English Reading.

Hahathayroai goes to a doctor for a physical examination. When he gets into the room, the man strips for his exam. He has a dick the size of a little kid''''s little finger. A nurse standing in the room sees his little dick and begins to laugh hysterically.
Hahathayroai gives her a stern look and say, "You shouldn''''t laugh, it''''s been swollen like that for two weeks now!"
