Su-30KN Multirole Combat Aircraft
The IRKUT Corporation is deeply involved in development of upgrades programmes for the fourth generation operational fighters. Implementation of in-depth upgrade of the Su-30K long-range fighter-interceptor jointly with Sukhoi Design Bureau and Russia''s Air Force resulted in development of Su-30KN multirole combat aircraft, which was certified in 2002.
The Su-30KN is capable of accomplishing a wide variety of combat missions at significant distances from the home base, in any weather con***ions and severe jamming environment, both by day and night.
Upgrade concept
The Su-30KN features enhanced combat effectiveness due to ad***ional equipment, such as navigation system compatible with GLONASS and NAVSTAR systems, and ad***ional computers. Besides, the low/medium/high-resolution mapping capabilities are introduced into the on-board radar, and two MFI-55 multifunctional color displays (instead of line-of-sight indicators) are installed to the ****pit, to ensure tactical information presentation on the surface radar map. The upgrade can be performed at the Customer''s site at minimal expenses.
Combat Employment
Fully suited for operations in adverse weather con***ions and severe jamming environment, both by day and night, the Su-30KN aircraft is capable of performing:
offensive/defensive counterair tasks to attain and maintain air superiority while engaging aerial targets at short/long distances in free aerospace and against surface background;
a variety of counterland combat tasks including high-precision strikes against high-priority targets at tactical and operational depth, suppression of hostile air defence with anti-radiation missiles, and close air support of friendly units with guided/unguided air-to-ground weaponry;
countersea tasks to engage and defeat separate ships and ship groupings beyond the reach of their anti-aircraft means.
Combat Effectiveness Enhanced
The Su-30KN features enhanced combat effectiveness due to:
high flight performance and maneuverability inherited from the base platform;
expanded info capabilities of upgraded avionics suite;
ability to employ a wide set of air-to-surface and air-to-air high-precision weapon;
ability to interact with other similar aircraft while carrying out missions in group;
data exchange capability with ground command posts and ground/shipborne/seashore missile strike means.
The aircraft is able to perform covert "radar-silenced" approach and automatic location of the target, thus dramatically improving combat mission success probability.

Development by design documentation on the two-place interceptor Su-30, since 1992 in series generating in Irkutsk, was finished more than ten years ago. Military-political and economic- financial situation in the world changed since then. Demand for the narrowly specialized combat aircraft is reduced, but the potential, placed in the construction Su-30, it allows, after insignificant modifications, to use it as the multipurpose destroyer, which will make possible of obtaining the new export contracts and to set up base for the modernization of the park VVS of Russia for the purpose of the maintenance of its combat potential with the moderate financial expen***ures, which is especially important under the present economic con***ions. Between IAPO and OKB "Russian avionics" was concluded the agreement on the two-stage modernization of aircraft Su-30K on the base of the technical solutions, razrabotanykh and realizovanykh in the program MiG-29SMT. For performing of work in the first stage IAPO isolated the aircraft Su-30K with the the onboard of â"-e02 (plant of â"-y0y0e02). Works began during February 1999 and are engaged themselves two weeks. During the first stage of modernization in ad***ion to the existing system for control of armament SUV-2"according to the principle of" bypass channel "were introduced new elements, including processor" baguette -55 "(KB" corundum") and BEVM V to the base of processor Intel i486DX2-50 (OKB" Russian avionics"). Its basic features: redundancy, the open architecture, the exchange of data on the multiplex tire Mil/std-1553b. As a result of modifications, possibility the works RLS were augmented by the regime of cartography of locality, built on the principle of the synthesized aperture and with the regime of the selection of the moving purposes, including of small size of the type "tank". Facilitated solution of problem the elements of unification, placed with the creation BREO for the aircraft MiG-29 and Su-27. The place of regular indicator is engaged itself MFI with the colored liquid-crystal matrix MFI-SHCHSHCH (shchkhshch of inches), which works in the graphic and television regimes. It is equipped with graphic processor and 20 by multifunctional upravlyayushchemi by buttons with the aid of which occurs control of the new modes of operation RLS of armament. In the ****pits and operator it is established on one MFI-SHCHSHCH; therefore both crew members have equal control capabilities of it. Toward the end of April it was possible to obtain the first results of the ground and flying tests of new BREO, during which were checked the regime of cartography of the earth''s surface, possibility of seizure and target tracking to different degrees of permission, ability RLS using the automatic aim designation for the weapon with the television homing system. To the autumn of 1999, on the proving ground in Aktyubinske, Su-30KN it were tested to the application OF UR of class "air-surface" with the television guidance X -59M (launching range of more than 100 km), passive radar X -31P (110-130 km) and active radar X -31A (70 km), the corrected aircraft bombs KAB -500. After the completion of the test program of the first stage of modernization, Su-30KN obtained the possibility of integration with any controlled weapon of class "air-to-air" and "air-surface", that consists in the arsenal VVS and naval aviation. This makes possible for new aircraft to strike air, ground and above-water targets at any time of twenty-four hours. The second stage of modernization is aimed at compiling of the aircraft of the qualitatively new level, compared with the newest western multifunctional destroyers of the type "rafal''", "Eurofighter" or "super- Hornet". It is intended to replace existing RLS RLPK-2"by RLS from THE HEADLIGHTS, what will make it possible to introduce the multichannel firing of several aerial targets, to establish in the ****pit two MFI and three - in operator. Is examined a question about the equipment of destroyer Su-30KN PKR of "alpha", SUO with the laser guidance, the promising ballistic missile of land operational-tactical complex. Loại tên lửa KC-172 bạn nói là tên lửa S-400 ( hay S-300 )
gì đấy có tầm bắn 400 km- Như vậy phải có ra đa tầm xa điều khiển từ phía sau.Rất đáng tiếc là theo công ước quốc tế chỉ được xuất khẩu vũ khí với tầm bắn tối đa là 300 km ( tất nhiên bí mật quân sự lại là chuyện khác )

Loại K-172 này là phiên bản thử nghiệm của R-172. Đây là loại hỏa tiển anti-AWACS, hyper-sonic chỉ dùng chống những mục tiệu có độ cơ động thấp như bomber và AWACS. Loại này đã được bán cho Ấn Độ.
