The following appeared in a memo from a manager of a car dealership.

"Ten years ago, long-term car leasing became available in our country of Mohilia as an alternative to outright car ownership, and leasing has steadily risen in popularity. For each of the last five years, the number of people leasing new cars has surpassed the number buying new cars. The average age of cars driven in Mohilia is six years; hence, if new car leases again outnumber purchases this year, it is likely that the majority of drivers will be driving leased, not individually owned, cars. Therefore, we should change the focus of our business from selling cars to leasing them."

Các bác giúp em với, bắt đầu vào môn viết mà gặp đúng chú này khoai quá. Chả thấy sơ hở tí nào cả. Thứ 7 thi rồi mà vẫn ngớ nga ngớ ngẩn.
Em làm theo công thức của anh Nông văn Va chỉ được thế này:
Conclusion: " we should change the focus of our business from selling cars to leasing them."
Premise: " For each of the last five years, the number of people leasing new cars has surpassed the number buying new cars. "
Assumption: Almost people using car leasing instead of outright car ownership.
Gap: - average age is 6. does not show the statistic of each age.
-do not show market trend.

Đề này là đề mọi người chọn để cùng làm mà. EM cũng làm rồi nhưng chẳng thấy ai hó hé gì hết nên cho chìm luôn
Theo em cái premise của nó có mấy cái fallacies thế này :
- steady risen : must provide specific stastical number and information sources : what percent , reliable sources or not --> if not --> unwarranted --> not convincing
- the increase in leasing car may be caused by other facts rather than market trend : bad situation of the economy --> citizens are hesitate to spend a big sum of money....... or they have already brought cars--> hasty conclusion.
- predict based on the fact that car age is 6 year is even more irrevelant. Viết tiếng anh khó chịu quá, cứ bị sai vì có dấu, , em viết TV cho nhanh nhé! GIả thiết là tuổi thọ xe là 6 năm, vì thế cho rằng nếu xu hướng xe leasing vẫn cao thì chuyên policy là ko có căn cứ. CÓ thể đặt ngược lại là vì người tiêu dùng đã mua xe trong vòng trước 5 năm đó, thì chính xác hơn phải là đến năm sau rất nên bán xe mới, vì họ cần phải mua xe mới!
Em tìm được 3 cái flaws đó. Mọi nguời chỉ giáo dùm với!

Mình tìm thêm được 1 lỗi nhỏ nữa, là surpass bao nhiêu, cũng nên cho số liệu chính xác cho each of the last 5 years. Mình cũng đã suy nghi để viết bài này, kết hợp thêm ý của lee163 thì có thể viết đoạn thứ nhát là irrelevant về 6 years và majority... Đoạn 2 nói về thiếu số liệu trực tiếp, not convincing và đoạn 3 nói về cái market trend của lee163 nhưng mình chả hiểu bạn lấy cái ý đó ở đâu ra, ngoài ra mình cũng thể phân tích thêm về điểm individually car. Các đại ca đi trước có thể giúp bọn em được ko ạ

On the surface, the ability of the arguer seems to be sound suggestion, but a carefully scrutiny of the statement, we can find that the arguer does not give us any data of the profit of the companies which lease car and do not take the second hand cars deal into the account. They are all important factors that should be referred to when the company comprises change his business.
First, the book can be used about a twenty or thirty years and the maintenance cost will be increasing with the age of the car, the arguer do not give the crucial details who afford the maintenance cost and the leasing companies who business the cars may at last lost a lot of money for high uphold cost. Also the arguer only lists the number of the cars and does not give any data of the gain which is the most important par ameters for a company. The phenomenon that the number of the cars which were leased may be bigger than the number of the new cars which were sold in the past five years does means that the companies which lease cars can earn more money than the ones that selling the proposals to us cars. If a car that was leased can onl y bring the companies one hundred dollars while a car that was sold in the past can give the companies five hundred dollars. the companies selling the proposals to us which cars can have bigger profit than the companies which lease the same number of cars. So the choice of selling cars may be still the best choice for the company.
Second, the arguer only tells us the number of new cars which are sold or leased. but do not take the second hand cars deal into the characters. There may be many young men or girls who like to lease new ones for only one year and then change another new one. so there will be many second hand cars in the market which causes the number of the new car leased surpasses than the number of the new book sold because the mature may go to the second hand car bought s instead of the new ones. if the arguers take the second hand cars deal number into account the number of cars which are sold may be bigger than the number of the leased cars. and the profit of the sold cars will be a good choice to the companies and the companies can earn more money.
In all, the evidences that the number of people leasing new cars has surpassed the number buying new cars of the arguer can not be sufficient support the decision of changing the business of the company to leasing cars. They should take more factors into consideration.

Em định lấy số 69 rồi mời các bác cùng làm nhưng nó cứ lởm khà lởm khởm. Gặp đề này thì đọc còn không hiểu, viết dề.

removing trout from just a few lakes is clearly the way to restore the frog population to its
former levels.

Đọc bài anh lamcaumo pose lên mới thấy mình quên mất một chỗ rất cơ bản mà nên rút kinh nghiệm. Lee đọc nhiều bài và cũng thấy điều đó rất đưọc chú ý, đó chính là lợi nhuận. Bất cứ một cái proposal nào đưa ra cũng cần chứng tỏ là mang lại lợi nhuận đầu tiên. Vì thế ta cứ nên attack vào điểm nó ko cung cấp số liệu cho thấy lợi nhuận là căn bản và ok nhất !
Mấy bài đã làm vậy, đến bài này lại quên, tại chưa thành thói quen, nghĩ nhanh là ko chu toàn đuợc!

Gap của nó ít quá nên phải làm chi tiết, đề 73 có ít sơ hở nên nếu ko đào sâu thì chịu chết. Tiếp theo là đề nào đây các bác ơi.

[1) For each of the last five years, the number of people leasing new cars has surpassed the number buying new cars. ---> trường hợp sau đây có thể xẩy ra No of leased cars (I): 1000 vs. indiviually onwed cars (II): 999 (trong suốt 6 năm)----> chỉ chênh nhau 1 chiếc xe cũng được gọi là outnumber --f ko đủ cơ sở để kết luận là majority of drivers use leased cars.--->weak argument.
Argument này sẽ được strengthened nếu % growth của (I) luôn tăng trong khi % growth của (II) luôn giảm qua các năm và quan trọng hơn là %profit margins của thằng nào lớn hơn.
2) Therefore, we should change the focus of our business from selling cars to leasing them tác giả quên mất các công ty car leasing cũng phải mua xe để cho thuê------>(I) và (II) không nhất thiết là đào mồ chôn lẫn nhau mà có khi ngược lại (I) lại là 1 biz opportunity để các dealers (II) bán xe.
Vấn đề quan trọng ở đây ko phải là 1 người sở hữu xe hay đi thuê; điều quan trọng là có bao nhiêu xe mới được bán trong 1 năm; bất kể là bán cho người dùng hay cho car leasing companies.
Argument này sẽ được strengthened nếu có số liệu tin cậy cho thấy số lượng bán xe mới giảm trong khi đó lượng xe cho thuê là second hand tăng (có thể do nhập xe cũ từ bang/nước khác về như kiểu VN đang muốn làm). Điều này chỉ makes sense kho công ty chỉ chuyên bán xe mới. Tuy nhiên ko rõ là công ty này bán xe cũ hay xe mới.
3) The average age of cars driven in Mohilia is six years- The assumption here is that people stop buying new cars at the end of their car?Ts life (year 6)- this is not necessarily true.
4) Ngoài ra như đã nói (I) và (II) không nhất thiết là đào mồ chôn lẫn nhau vì có thể dân số của Mohilia tăng ví dụ có thêm nhiều thanh niên mới lớn ko có nhiều tiền để mua xe mới nên đi thuê xe. Điều này dẫn đến (I) tăng lên nhưng chưa chắc đã làm giảm (II); thậm chí (II) cũng có thể tăng mặc dù về số tuyệt đối thì nhỏ hơn (I) và về lợi nhuận thì có thể (II) vẫn OK như đã nói. So why bother?
5) Therefore, we should change the focus of our business from selling cars to leasing them. Tác giả ko nói rõ là công ty đang bán xe cũ hay xe mới và cũng ko rõ là sẽ lease xe cũ hay xe mới; trong khi số liệu đưa là chỉ nói đến xe mới. Vì vậy, NẾU bán xe mới mà ko ăn thì cũng có thể chuyển sang bán xe cũ (giống VN bây giờ) ko nhất thiết phải kinh doanh cho THUÊ.
Trước khi đi đến quyết định cần phải cân nhắc 1 số yếu tố: tỷ suất lợi nhuận (đã nói); tiềm năng tăng trưởng trong những năm tới; tình hình cạnh tranh (có nhiều công ty leasing chưa); leasing cần phải có đầu tư ban đầu rất lớn để mua xe mới trong khi làm dealers thì ko mất vốn nhiều mà chỉ ăn hỏa hồng của car makers?
