Report for March 13 afternoon and March 14 morning with Lois Gordon and Joel Levis. (from the U.S.A)
1. March 13 afternoon: at 2 PM, Mai, Tuân and Hùng Anh came to Elegance 2 Hotel to meet this couple. We discussed a bit about the place they would like to visit before leaving for the West Lake, Trấn Vũ temple and Trấn Quốc pagoda.
Firstly, we walked around Trấn Quốc pagoda for a while,talking about how the world population would rise incredibly in the year of golden pig after seeing the western style wedding gown in a shop.Then start going to Trấn Quốc Pagoda, unluckily, it was holding a funeral. The lesson about finding a quiet place to talk was applied here. On the way back to Fivimart-where we parked our bike and motorbike, we spent sometimes with the John McCain statue and talk about how easily unlocked bike can be stolen in big city. They really enjoyed West Lake although it was kind of foggy and find it interesting to know this is one of the famous lovers'' road. As it is not a huge tourist place, I suggest West Lake can be a good recommendation for tourists avoiding noise. In ad***ion, the view here is beautiful. Many thanks to bro Hùng Anh for suggesting this place at the beginning!
Later, we drove through the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, External committee house of Communist party (which was commented as similar to the White house''s achitecture) and Ministry of Foreign Affair. Finally, arriving at Temple of Literature, we have a good time chatting about which made a successful person and the difference between Asian and Western culture.
2.March 14 morning: Mai and Kim Dung
We spent the whole morning in the Museum of Ethnology. We intended to visit Hanoi Hilton (Hoả Lò) as well but as Hanoi Hilton was closed during lunch, we didn''t make it (but other group should note that Hoả lò would close from 11 AM to 1:30 PM if someone haven''t noticed so make sure that you have arranged all the date to work out before and we can manage the time better. Lois and Joe need to book the ticket at Malaysian Airline so we stopped at Trang Tien street and say goodbye to them from there and walked back to the hotel.
Outside story: Tuan''s cell phone was out of ernegy and his motorbike was out of gasoline at the same time. Mai''s cell phone is out of money while 3 members which were supposed to join the trip could not come for preparation for their test so one trip we had to use taxi eventually (and unexpectedly). Remember to charge your cell phone, fill up gas for your scooter and keep contacting with Miss Ha and members that you go with before the tourist day! Come ON TIME is MANDATORY as well. (in emergency cases when you can''t come or have to arrive late, make sure you contact with members in your group or Miss Ha for help so people would not worry about you)
This is my first report so don''t be harsh on me. For further detail please posting your comment here and I would explain as much as I can.
