CONFERENCE - PERSPECTIVES ON HARRY POTTER

CALL FOR PAPERS

The English Department is holding a two-day conference discussing the Harry Potter phenomenon. This conference will take place on Thursday 15 & Friday 16 January 2004. We welcome 20 minute papers dealing with any aspect of Harry Potter, especially the books, movies, merchandising, and social reactions. Selected papers will be collected for an e***ed publication.

Anticipated areas of research are:
- Children''''s literature
- Cultural Studies
- Screen Studies
- Theology
- Education
- Scottish literature

Proposals should be submitted in the form of an abstract of about 100-500 words in an electronic format (preferably Word) by Monday, 10 November. We will require a full-text of the paper one month after presentation.
