In my English class, we have a funny poem about spelling problems : When is the English language we speak? Why is break not rhymed with freak? Will you tell me why it's true That we sew, but we also saw few And why cannot makers of verse Rhyme the word horse with worse? Beard sounds much different from heard Cord is so different from word Cow is cow, but low is low Shoe never rhymes with foe, And I think of hose, and dose, and lose, And I think of goose and yet of choose, Doll and roll, and home and some. And since pay is rhymed with say, Why paid and said, I pray? Mood is not pronounced like wood And done is not like gone and lone. *****m it all up, it seems to me That sounds ad letters just do not agree.
