BAGRAM AIR BASE, Afghanistan -- Tech. Sgt. Mike Milewski, a crew chief, talks to the pilot of an A-10 Thunderbolt II ground attack jet here during an end-of-runway check. Milewski is with the Maryland Air National Guardâ?Ts 104th Fighter Squadronâ?Ts end-of-runway crew, which is doing a 30-day tour at the base as part of the 455th Expe***ionary Operations Squadron. The crew gives each ground-attack fighter a thorough going over before it departs on a mission.

An F-15 Eagle from the 12th Fighter Squadron at Elmendorf Air Force Base flies next to a Russian Tu-95 Bear Bomber Sept. 28 during a Russian exercise that brought the Bear near the west coast of Alaska. The Eagle took off as part of North American Aerospace Defense Command''s reaction to this training opportunity provided by the Russian 137th Air Army.

Crew chiefs marshal F-15E Strike Eagles to their parking spaces at Royal Air Force Base Lakenheath, England, on Friday, July 28. The 492nd Fighter Squadron jets were returning home from a two-week deployment to Graf-Isnatievo Air Base, Bulgaria, where they took part in exercise Immediate Response, which began July 17. Airmen from the 48th Fighter Wing provided support at the joint, trilateral exercise with the Bulgarian and Romanian militaries and U.S. Soldiers. The Airmen practiced ground attack and air-to-air tactics.

A modified F-15E Strike Eagle, assigned to the 494th Fighter Squadron, launched on an operational training mission from Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, on Monday, July 10, with the bomb release unit-61. The aircraft was one of four to participate in the first training mission with the new technology. The BRU-61 carries the newest small-diameter bomb, the guided bomb unit-39, into battle when the unit deploys in September.

SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- A crew chief climbs into the ****pit of an F-15E Strike Eagle and conducts preflight inspections before departure from a deployed location here Jan. 25. The Strike Eagles were returning to their home station at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England. The aircraft were assigned to the 379th Air Expe***ionary Wing.

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- F-15E Strike Eagles with the 391st Expe***ionary Fighter Squadron deployed from Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, and 18th Wing here prepare to take off for a training mission. About 300 Airmen from Mountain Home are here supporting U.S. Pacific Command operations as part of an air and space expe***ionary force tasking.
