    YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan (AFPN) -- C-130 Hercules aircraft from the 36th Airlift Squadron sit on the flightline before a six-ship sortie. The squadron is the only forward-based tactical airlift squadron in the Pacific region. They provide C-130 aircrews to conduct theater airlift, special operations, aeromedical evacuation, search and rescue, repatriation and humanitarian relief missions.

    YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan (AFPN) - C-130 Hercules aircraft taxi out for a mission during a six-ship sortie here. The 36th Airlift Squadron is the only forward-based tactical airlift squadron in the Pacific region. The unit maintains a forward presence and supports combat operations by moving people and equipment.

    KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. (AFPN) -- The final C-130J Hercules from the 403rd Wing here touched down after being forward deployed to Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga. The 403rd Wing mission, which includes the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron''s "Hurricane Hunters" and the 815th Airlift Squadron''s "Flying Jennies," fully reinstated its mission at Keesler after Hurricane Katrina damaged their home unit.

    The "Hurricane Hunters" from Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., flew their first WC-130J Hercules operational mission into a storm May 20, gathering data about Hurricane Adrian off the coast of El Salvador. In the past, 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron crews flew WC-130J''s into storms for training and evaluation, not to fulfill a tasking from the National Hurricane Center.
