INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- A KC-135 Stratotanker takes off from here. Six ad***ional Stratotankers arrived here Nov. 1 and 2 *****pport operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. The aircraft and their crews are from Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D.; Robins AFB, Ga.; and McConnell AFB, Kan. They increase the 385th Air Expe***ionary Group here by 75 people including operations, maintenance and medical airmen.

ROYAL AIR FORCE MILDENHALL, England -- A KC-135 Stratotanker undergoes an isochronal inspection here recently. The inspection begins with all access panels being removed to check flight controls. This is the first aircraft being inspected in the new facility built here for the 100th Maintenance Squadron.

CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand -- A KC-135R Stratotanker from the 452nd Air Mobility Wing at March Air Reserve Base, Calif., sits on the ramp here in support of Operation Deep Freeze. The operation is a joint military operation of the U.S. Armed Forces and the New Zealand Defence Forces. The operation provides logistic support for the U.S. National Science Foundation''s Antarctic Program.

A KC-135R Stratotanker Cuts through the clouds on a training mission. The KC-135''s principal mission is air refueling. This asset greatly enhances the U. S. Air Force''s capability to accomplish its mission of Global Engagement. It also provides aerial refueling support to U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and allied aircraft. Four turbofans, mounted under 35-degree swept wings, power the KC-135 to takeoffs at gross weights up to 322,500 pounds. Nearly all internal fuel can be pumped through the tanker''s flying boom, the KC-135''s primary fuel transfer method. A special shuttle****-shaped drogue, attached to and trailed behind the flying boom, may be used to refuel aircraft fitted with probes.

Army vehicles and cargo are arranged into force packages on the pier in Antwerp, Belgium, prior to being packed aboard five LMSRs bound for the Middle East. Assembling force packages before loading the equipment allows units to quickly become fully operational once their equipment has reached its destination.

A 1st Infantry Division M1A2 Abrams main battle tank is secured and ready to be loaded into USNS Dahl?s expansive interior decks.

An AH-64 Apache attack helicopter attached to the U.S. Army?s 1st Infantry Division is towed up the stern ramp and into the ****rnous interior of large, medium-speed, roll-on/roll-off ship USNS Red Cloud as snow falls at port facilities in Antwerp, Belgium. Red Cloud and four other LMSRs loaded more than one million square feet of the 1st ID?s combat and support equipment in Antwerp during the month of January.
